I’m in a predicament, I’ve been in the job hunt for around two months. I’ve narrowed it down to two jobs, one near where I already live in Spokane Washington, the other is in Denver.

The Spokane job is safer, (slower rise through the company but almost guaranteed success once I get the position I want.)

The Denver job is riskier, (immediately jumping in to a role that most people have to work towards.)

I don’t know what to pick. The main reason I like Denver is that the ABDL scene is very active. There’s a store, regular events, ABDL specific therapy (which I probably need, I have a lot of depression issues due to this kink).

I guess I’m just not sure if it’s worth it to move entirely for ABDL reasons, but I really don’t want to die alone and it really looks like I would have a better chance finding someone in Denver.

Sorry for the rant, it’s just that Abdl things aren’t exactly something you can talk to anyone about.

Are they remote jobs and what industry are they in?

How young are you? If younger I would take the risk at the Denver job - always a chance you fail but that just means you have to look for another job.

Not remote sales job, in person. Will be given a large territory in Denver with very little training.

At 27....take the risk! So Denver, definitely!

I hope to add a bit to your decision-making process, something that is not directly ABDL-related: cost of living and "livability" of the areas. Unfortunately, I know nothing about Spokane except where it is; I know Denver well as I have visited regularly for more than 50 years (and love the city/area). Denver's cost-of-living is very high, pollution and traffic woes can be bad-to-worse at times, but I believe the positives outweigh the negatives. You can learn to navigate the traffic pretty well as you get to know the city and area; you just deal with the air pollution. My simple advice is to weigh carefully all parts of your decision of whether or not to move, not just the ABDL ones.

meh do it! I took a sales job with literally zero training at 23ish …. It worked out amazing (until my health collapsed and I had to quit :( ). I literally got my account list (that was sooooo wrong, I threw it out and used google to find stores), my iPad (which didn’t have any of the programs on, that was fun lol) and a catalogue. And told have fun! Let me know if you have questions. You will have to do a LOT of work at beginning to overcome that and ask questions to everyone - find others in your field that do similar jobs in other territories (preferably with your company) and ask so many questions - figure out how to train yourself. I also talked with other sales reps I bumped into at the accounts and got tips/ideas from them. You will make mistakes, say sorry, write down what you should have done and don’t do it again. Take notes on each account - these come in handy at beginning when it’s information overload and small things like what day/time they prefer helps so much when booking next appointment. I was in pet products though which is a slightly different sales because so many of the store owners knew nothing about business ….. trying to get them to preorder stuff for the next season was impossible and very frustrating lol. But I may have got away with not knowing “proper” sales technique easier because I knew the products from being in a pet store before so I could explain how/who they could sell things too. The couple of stores that played hard ball tactics (usual sales) I had a bit more trouble with because I hated pushing sales but I slowly improved over time and grew those accounts too.

Sit down and ask yourself about your future. What do you want? How much are you willing to sacrifice?

compare both jobs with various factors. Think carefully about each factor.

remember that whatever you want is just beyond your fears.
