I'm looking for something to wear on top of my nappy that provides a bit more protection. I don't like the idea of plastic pants.

PROTEC Briefs are the BEST diaper cover I've ever used.

GARY WEAR Diaper covers are highly rated as well.

I too do not like plastic pants. What protection are you looking for? Minimize noise? Leaks? Odor?

They look good but they look a bit over the top. I was thinking about something like this but I'm not sure. They're called nappy 'covers' on Amazon but it also talks about using inserts so I'm not sure if they're something I should be wearing on top of my nappy.Screenshot_20230311_145744_Amazon Shopping.jpg

They on the pricey side ! May take a look at Gray active wear Pul pulup covers ! You also can check out North Shore Care Trifect water proof covers along with the Changing times diaper company and Dependeco Adult Diaper Company.
These are the companys I usually use .

Depends (pun intended) on how much more protection you need.

PUL pants provide similar protection as plastic pants, but are much more comfortable.

If you're concerned about slightly heavier leaks, then a snap-on pocket diaper without a diaper pad stuffed inside provides microfleece on the inside to disburse a leak while the outside PUL cover keeps things dry (that's what I'm wearing over my disposable now). You need to make sure the coverage of the pocket diaper is greater than your disposable.

If you're concerned about major leaks, like peeing over the top or leaking while sleeping on your side, you can use the pocket diaper with a pad inside, or use a single layer terry or double layer flannel pull-on diaper over your disposable to absorb a major leak, and wear a PUL cover over the top.

Where do you feel you need the extra protection? Crotch? Sides? Waist? And how bad are your leaks?

It tends to leak to the sides when I wet sitting down. I want to be able to do this and for the nappy to work. They're fine otherwise.

Me neither. Try Amazon and look up one size adult diaper cover or pocket diaper. I’ve had mine for a few years and they’re still like new. Durable, and washable. Good luck.

I did but the leg elastic was uncomfortable even when I got a size up. Plus they smelled like chemicals even after washing/air dry. I hope they work out for you. I just got the PUL side snap BearHugs from CTDC. I love them!

Thanks, I have had some issues too with the elastics, I tried other brands but don't seem to last as long as these.

While everyone has an opinions regarding diaper covers. Anyone that uses their diapers are going to be faced with leaks!

PUL is quickly becoming the new standard for Plastic Pants. That said, The vast majority of diaper covers use the narrow elastic bands and most people do not like the tight line they can cause. I commonly upsize one size with that style.

My favorite diaper cover are from Northshore and their Trifecta series. I strongly recommend trying them as they use a wider comfortable bands and they use a material that does two very different things; outside is smooth and the inside will retain small leaks. Something totally different from what's on the market. Costing is more that Gary Wear, but will out last them 2.5 to 1 and I have seen longer.

Being transparent, I use both Gary Wear 'Tuffy' and Northshore's Trifecta as I believe in switching things up a bit.

When you say leak to the sides, do you mean from the back of the legs or over the hips and from the side panels of the diaper?
Sitting is the worst of all positions for a full void.

FYI... the Northshore Trifecta is not a slim over pant. If you follow the sizing chart, you will get a diaper cover with very comfortable elastics, but it will be blousy. Just a heads up. I do like them very much.

I see your from the uk ?

If thats right, check out NRU they have several different covers, patterned and plain, they are simmilar to what the folks above me have said, but they are £10.99 each, i have 3 pairs myself and i love then, they have side leak guards and it comes with a pocket so stuff it with, this can be cloth or disposable.

I notice the difference when wearing them over the disposables, they minimise leaks, especially from the leg cuffs.
