I know I just asked a question on cloth diapers but I have more. Normally I wear Megamall or something similar in the day some lighter in the evening than a Megamall at night. I bought some cloth over the years and now am thinking going primarily cloth. I had tried pocket diaper they weren't my this I have 2 l/xl omutsu diaper they are ok seem short on my, I got one twill snap diaper I like that and I have some prefolds 2x and 3x. So my question how many should I have in total, what do you do about changing in public, and any tips you can give me would be help.

You need at least enough for 3 days , 2 day wear , 1 day wash , so at least a dozen if not 15
Search wet bags for carrying spare diapers and use a 1 for 1 system eg, bag that can carry a dry diaper but can take a wet one
Don’t forget spare pants, wipes and clothes as with all types of diapers plan for the unexpected

It really depends on your usage, but like @parcelboy2 I’d suggest three days’ worth as a sort of rule-of-thumb, at least to start with. You’ll want to wash your diapers at least that often, and possibly more frequently. I wear only for littleness/pleasure, and for about 8-9 hours each day. I’m mostly in prefolds. Every 2-3 days I’ll have a good full load of diapers to wash.

You do sort of have to just dive in and find your rhythm though.

As a point of reference, I use as many as 8 cloth diapers a day and wash every other day. I use a drying rack to save on wear and tear as well as energy so it takes two days to wash and dry. This means I need to have 4 days of diapers... a little over 30 cloth diapers to be completely cloth. Since I favor disposable diapers when I travel and leave the house for extended periods, I actually only have two dozen and I supplement with disposables as needed.
