Mommy Scammed Me

I recently was in contact for a few days on google chat with a supposed mommy. I took the risk of sending her some money to "order supplies" for me. Well, things didn't pan out.
Lesson learned. Do not give money to someone until you meet them personally and actually be sure they have a nursery, not just pictures of adult baby things. I may post her name later today if she doesn't get back to me yet today.

For future reference, anyone who messages you out the blue about being your mommy is undoubtedly fake. Especially if "she" asks for money.

As I said, I knew it was risky and the money lost doesn't hurt me much.

Probably best to always listen to your gut and not risk anything. You may just be out of a lil money but feeding scammers will only entice them more to prey on other people. Really sorry this happened to you regardless, it sucks no matter what!

Sadly, you are correct about "feeding the scammer."

Sadly this happens to too many people. Mommy scammers are abound everywhere. Don't ever give money for someone to be your mommy or daddy. It's most common with mommies, though. I know people are lonely and really wanna be cared for by a 'mommy', but it's not worth losing hundreds or even more. It's all a bunch of scammers from China or somewhere else using images they stole off Google to make you think they're legit, and they all use the same lines.

If you met her on ADISC, please report her profile and include details of the scam so we can ban her.
Otherwise... remember that 90% of mommies are fake, and you should have read our post about scams: https://www.adisc.org/forum/threads/scams.162194/

You should be posting their social media pages and their name so we know to avoid them and this keeps anyone from falling for their scams as well and provide screen shots for proof but be aware retaliation could occur from their end. I experienced it myself recently.

But I get it, people are so worried about retaliation, they are too afraid to say who the business is or the seller or the mommy, etc.

That few? I’d have guessed a few more nines in that.

Real “mommies” have their pick of the litter. They will NEVER contact you out of the blue.

Made this same mistake recently, it hurts. You pour your heart out to someone, they ask you for money and promise you your dream but, it never comes true. I hope you truly have learned your lesson and don't make the same mistake multiple times like I did. Lessons learned: 1) never pay, especially with gift cards 2) ask to meet in person at a neutral place local to you 3) if at any point they ask you to buy an ID card or pay for a form, cut contract immediately. It could be as little as $5 or $500, it's bad news. Every. Single. Time.

I agree with the others.
It sucks that this happened but it is lesson learned for next time.
I have been contacted by so many numerous “mommies” using various chat sites: Hangouts, snapchat, Instagram, and Twitter.
Some even ask for my phone number to text. Of course I never gave them that information. It was always some fake number.
I learned the easiest way to spot a scam was the obvious: bad grammar and spelling.
If that doesn’t set me off it’s usually the need for money after chatting for just a day or two. Usually some bs excuse like to buy supplies or something else.
The other thing too is that they can be relentless as in sending multiple and I mean multiple messages a day and then being “upset” with you if you don’t respond back quick enough.
Luckily I’ve learned to spot these scammers right away and block them.
Good thing though, I have yet to run into any scammers here on the forums.

Also, if one does not exist we should create a thread that lists Mommy or ABDL scammers so we can avoid others from falling prey and help protect others. Just an idea.

Not a bad idea as I also feel that way. I had a mommy contact me through a site then asked if we could chat through Google. She is trying to pry into my funds but I don't have any extra to give even if I wanted too. My little feels so alone and would like to find someone close to meet in person someday but don't want to be taken advantage of financially in the process. So sad there seems to so many scammers in the world today.

That's why I never really give RL money to some random stranger. I been scammed on Second Life where I gave someone a lot of Lindens for what seemed like they were going to do a photo shoot and give me a high HD quality pic. But thankfully it not like I spend any RL money. But it basically made me feel like someone took a bunch of presents that various friends gave me, from me in that case.

But regardless, it is a lesson learned the hard way, even if it's better to learn the easy way since no penalty.

Seems a vibe is too subjective for this sort of thing?

A big red flag is usually whithin the first few messages they ask what you do for a living. Instagram was bad for it and probably still is.

I am on Instagram. I only check in on occasion and every time, I have a new mommy following or trying to chat me up. I do not even respond.

I got scammed 1k last year trying to buy source code (my dev exit scammed) for a particular tool 😂 I’m laughing because it happens and sure it’s annoying af but there’s always that risk.
Don’t go looking for mommies that’s just going to end up in a scam. Think with your 🧠 not your 🍆 💯
