On ADISC, the more active you are, the more neat things you earn.

- Guests
- Guests are visitors who are not logged in.
- They can read some of the site, for a short time, but that is all they can do, and pretty soon they have to log in or register.
- Unverified Member
- These are members who have registered, but they haven't verified their email address.
- They're treated the same as Guests, since their account isn't verified yet.
- Lurker
- Lurkers are members who have been members of the site for awhile, but they have never posted anything.
- They're usually treated the same as Guests, because while they do have an account with a verified email, they've never said anything.
- Verified Member
- These are members who have a verified email address, and are otherwise in good standing. Everyone who joins ADISC and verifies their email, starts at this level.
- They can read, and post to, almost all of the site. Sooner or later, they will either become a Contributor, or if they don't post anything, a Lurker.
- Contributor (C)
- Contributors are members who have made at least one post in our community, and do not have any warnings from a moderator for breaking the ADISC Rules. Their first post is often an introduction post, but it doesn't have to be. Any post counts.
- Contributors get extra perks, such as access to the Stories forum.
- Established Contributor (EC)
- Established Contributors are members who have a verified email address, have been registered for at least 7 days, have at least 20 posts, have an avatar, and do not have any active warnings from a moderator.
- ECs get major perks, such as access to EC-only areas, the ability to start conversations (private messages) with other members, the ability to upload to Media, and more.
- Staff
- These are the moderators and other volunteers who help run this place.
And a few other things to bear in mind:
- After you qualify for the next rank, it can take up to an hour for you to get promoted.
- If you are registered and logged in, but your email is not confirmed (either because you just signed up and have not verified it yet, because you changed it and have not verified the new address yet, or because your address has started bouncing/rejecting mail and you've yet to update it to a new working address) then you won't be able to get or keep any rank higher than Unverified Member until you verify your email address. If you can't verify your current email on file, you will need to change it to a new one that you can verify, and verify it, before you become eligible for any higher ranks.
