Hi, I wear 24/7, and I was wondering when you find yourself with a big wet spot on your bed upon waking up.

If i'm sleeping on my stomach with an Abena super medium, i leak 50% of the time. And If i'm curled up in my sleeper on my side, i'll leak 90% of the time. The only time I feel the most prone to leak free nights, is when i'm sleeping on my back, but even then, if my (you know what) is facing up towards my stomach, i'll leak all over the place.

I was wondering, what other bedwetters do to solve the problem. I could get some underpads, but even then, my sleeper would still get soaked and i would be freezing cold. But even waking up wet in the middle of the night, i've gotten used to it and i can usually just fall back asleep, or i might get up and change and throw a towel on the wet spot.

I dunno, i just wish that you could put on a diaper, and be guarenteed to wake up dry, no matter what position you're in.

I've rarely had a leak problem. I use Tranquility ATNs and point IT down. I also sleep on my back, which is probably why I don't leak often.

Okay well your first problem is facing your thing up...Do NOT do that! Diapers are not designed to absorb that way. So face it down like most normal people. Then you will not leak out of the front, it is that simple.
As for laying on your side, there is nothing you can reallly do about that, because gravity forces it out the sides before your diaper even has a chance to absorb it. So this is simple too, do not sleep on your side.

Agreed - pointing down is better.

As for it leaking out the sides... Do these diapers have any leak guards? I think Abena is a pretty good brand, so I'd expect them to have some sort of leak protection round the sides. If not, either look for a better brand, or perhaps try some plastic pants?

Yep, point it down, as make sure the diaper is tight enough around your legs. It has to be tight in order to work right. If that doesn't work, then I suggest a different brand, or plastic pants.

#1... point the tool downwards...
#2... try a stuffer to add some extra absorbency
#3... have you tried cloth diapers? With a good pair of properly sized plastic panties they won't leak.

Down sucks.

:(
it might suck if your wearing for fun, but if you'r trying not to leak at night, up sucks.

i don't know how to stop side leaks other than plastic pants. or just sleep on your back/belly. otherwise its a good thing your use to wet mornings, because ther's going to be more of them.

Yeah, I know up is worse, But if you wet slowly (Which I dislike, it hurts somewhat) its OK, but whats the fun in wetting slowly anyway.

i've never tried abena supers, but i know they're not supposed to be nearly as absorbant as abena x-plusses: they're not really designed for total incontinence. i'd say your first step should be to get some better diapers. maybe even try cloth. i've heard with a well-fitting pair of plastic pants cloth diapers hardly ever leak before they're full, although i've never tried them myself.

the other thing is that you should make sure you're not saving up your pee and then flooding. because that's guaranteed to make a diaper leak in certain positions. just relax and let it trickle out in small amounts whenever you have the slightest urge to go.

if i've got a decent-quality diaper and i put it on properly i can sleep on my side all night long without leaking.

ya if you sleep on your back and or belly you wont leak as much because the pee has more room to absorb and i dont know why people say its uncomfortable to have your tool down.....thats how diapers are designed to work! it doesnt make sense to point it up =-/ because you jus hit the rim and the is no absorbancy there.

I am a bed wetter who is a side sleeper. I just wear 2 or more diapers to bed with plastic pants. I normaly wear a disposable with 1 or more cloth diapers over them. This helps with the leaks most of the time. I also have a plastic cover on my mattress too.:smile1:

pointing downward may take some time getting used to... but believe me it's the most effective way for guys to prevent leaks.

how is it even possible to walk around with your dick pointing up at the heavens? wouldn't it flop around in the front of your pants, and stretch the skin and pull out hairs? and wouldn't it be a bit uncomfortable knowing that your balls were totally vulnerable and exposed to even the slightest pressure?

my equipment just doesn't work that way. if i tried it i think it would flop back and forth like a metronome for a while and then wind up just falling out the leg of my underwear.

Step #1: Buy Abri form X Plus
Step #2: Buy Abri Let Maxi (stuffer)

I can guarantee you will not leak after that.

 Lol - what a crazy description! *tries to get the images out of his head* I'm sure it's possible to point your equipment up in normal underwear, provided you use spandex shorts of some kind, because otherwise it'll fall right back down. If you prefer a snug fit on your diapers, it may work too. It kind of depends on the size of your parts when they're in their unaroused state.
Plus the average guy has (from what I read somewhere) 40 random erections per day, and some occur during the night too, which will cause your equipment to relocate in your sleepwear.
Still, if you use your diaper without any kind of control at night, it's a dumb dumb idea to point it up. Obviously, 95% of the absorbent material is then located in an area where, by the normal laws of physics (gravity), the pee will never go. So you either invent a new type of diaper (which must look like a scarf with a hole - wrap the scraf around your hips and poke your equipment through the hole), or you do what everyone else does and point your parts down! In a diaper with a snug fit, it should stay down no matter what happens...even if it may feel uncomfortable or restrictive at times.

Hehe. My junk points up the body due to ... happy... dreams and when I need to pee too much. So even if it's pointing down at the start of the night it makes an exodus and changes position.

That plus sleeping on my side.

Glad I'm not a bed-wetter because I would be screwed. :)

umm... I don't have a problem pointing my parts upward... even in underwear or diapers... it stays put for the most part... never had many problems...

I only point downward for sleeping...

I do not understand why anyone would want to point up...it just makes no sense! First of all in that position absorbancy is very poor, specially when laying down. Second like avery said, it has got to be very uncomfortable, and painful if a wrong move is made. I will stick with being down. Plus it even says on most diaper packages "point down for best results." So why would yougo against directions?
