I just told my therapist about wearing adult diapers. She was awesome. I post this here because I have no idea anymore where to post dhaper-related content. My posts have been moved on this site, and if that's the rub then fine, but I honestly don't know where to post anymore since each of my diaper related posts have been moved. So, I'm posting here for now and won't be surprised if its moved. With that, for those who will move this, you should tell us your reasoning for movement, otherwise how will we ever understand what belongs where????

Yep, happened to me a bit too.
Great playing hunt your thread 😉

Did your therapist ask for your back story to why you like wearing?

A therapist came to see me, saying she would come back every week. She did not come back. That is good because I have nothing to say to a therapist.

Must be the week for “coming out”. I told my therapist about my diapers and ABDL this week as well. He was very supportive and commended me on my self care. Feeling very validated.

I saw a therapist when I first learned about my H’s secret fetish for diapers. She was instrumental in helping me and later us through the issue. Highly recommend!

A good therapist should’ve been able to tell you about your diapers! No, wait, that would be a good psychic! A good therapist just asks “and how does that make you feel” while charging you $150 an hour! The thing that I would be worried about is that if your diapers make you feel better and cope with the world would she see them as her competition? After all that’s why you’re going to see her in the first place!

I’ve been debating whether to open up to a therapist about this side of me. Thanks for posting and sharing your courage!

Open up to them. You are seeing them to get help and, presumably, to become the best you possible. Hiding pieces of the puzzle from them will make their job harder and slow down the pace at which you can improve yourself. Sharing my diaper fetish with my therapist was one of my best choices to date. She has been absolutely supportive and helped me deal with my own shame.

What did you do to scare away a therapist?

She may have stopped by merely to see if I wanted anything. Because I said nothing she could take hold of, she left for good.

I went to a therapist about my diaper wear. It was during the 1970's when Jaqui Schiff and her book "All My Children" were all the talk of the psych community. This was the time of "reparenting"...look it up. I went into a secure nursing facility to do weekends in diapers. The therapy did help...I made one of the psych journals with the MMPI test change. I shared some of this earlier on here and got trashed by someone who didn't believe it but look it up before you disbelieve. It was a practice into the late '80's. I don't know past that because if finally had a partner who understood.

I had never heard of this technique, J. Schitz or her book. By doing a quick read of book reviews on Amazon, I see that her techniques were very controversial. It even mentioned that someone had died while in the program. Did you see any abuse, or was it more nurturing care?

It was more nurturing in nature. The therapist and I met with the staff in advance and were fully briefed on what the therapy was to involve. If you study the child-adult-parent concept of TA, you will understand they were to keep me in the child ego state. I was not to be allowed to converse on an adult level. They were to keep a parent type demeanor. It worked!
