Ingrid Betancourt is Free!!!

Like title says, after 2321 days, Betancourt was rescued from captivity yesterday (July ND) by Colombian Security forces.

She is a Colombian politician, former senator and anti-corruption activist. Betancourt was kidnapped by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) on February 23, 2002.

After many attempt to rescue her, the last, named "operation Jacque", was successful.

Thanks to all soldier and people who believed and saved her.

The operation to free her and the other hostages sounds quite extraordinary. A team flew in disguised as FARC sympathisers (apparently sporting Che Guevara T-shirts) and convinced the captors that they were transferring them to another camp, they got them out of there in about twenty minutes and without a shot being fired. Must take some nerve on the part of the Columbian military to do that.
