Haven't done it in a while but if memory serves I can go 21 seconds holding my breath underwater.

I've gone a minute plus a few seconds.

I'm in band, so that probably helps - controlled breathing, ya know. :strong:

33.33 seconds. I haven't done that in a while, but I did a lot better than I thought I would :smile1:

About 5 minutes now. I can keep doing this until I get wrist cramp.

5-6 Minutes, I also nearly white out when I do it, I let myself shut down before hand.

Meaning, I let myself nearly pass out BEFORE I hold my breath.

I am pretty sure I can do it until I pass out... or die if I am underwater. :p

This used to be a competition among friends when I was a lifeguard, most people could only go for 1-2 minutes before coming up. A few rare individuals could go several minutes, but it took a lot of relaxation and hyperventilation before hand to achieve. I think most extreme skin divers can hold their breath around 5-6 minutes.

Well I could swim a half-Olympic sized swimming pool with one breath (swimming underwater) last year. So I guess a bit over a minute at my fittest?

a minute and a half before minor discomfort. Although of course, this is without any rigorous movement.

I just did it now and got 1:30, I can't remember my best ever time.
Although that's sat down not doing anything, it's a bit different underwater.

BTW, pinching your nose Makes a difference. Rather than letting air passively flow to your lungs, that is something I have noticed anyway. But I can hold my breath for about 40 seconds underwater.
