Many of us my self included think at some point in our lives that we're the only ones who wear diapers.
How did you react when you found out that wasn't the case? How did you find out?

For me we got internet for the first time in the mid 1990s and being a curious lad I searched up diapers. Found out very quickly that I wasn't the only one who wore & liked diapers.
My jaw hit the ground. My heart did probably 200 beats per minute and I had a smile you couldn't stop.
Years of struggling with my self and wondering why I was the only person on earth with this secret.
What a load off.

Post car crash, while leaving the hospital ward, it became clear to me that I was not alone in having to wear diapers or a catheter and bag. That was reinforced while waiting for my doctor appointment, the waiting area was filled with others who were wearing (back then) cloth diapers. That was about 50 years ago.

I felt both relieved and intrigued when I discovered I was the only one who like to wear diapers, go potty in them, and play with himself in diapers. This was in the late 1960's, I was in my early 20's, had wet my bed until I was 17, had my mother diaper me every night and felt so weird knowing that by then I liked to wet my diapers, liked to play with myself in my diapers and couldn't see myself. I thought something was so wrong with me wanting to go around in diapers and rubber pants as a young adult when no one I knew did the same thing.....until I read something in a small magazine in a drug store about a woman who wanted to know if she should be worried about her husband who she found wearing a diaper. After that I found other articles, some Dear Abby type stories along the same genre, and realized I wasn't the only adult who like wearing diapers. However it was often treated as an example of aberrant or immature behavior which caused me to become very self-conscious and secretive about my own diaper wearing.

My reaction was a mixture of surprise and revulsion--and relief, although that came along a bit later. It was late 1994, I was a college freshman, and I'd just gotten access to the internet. I was scrolling through the groups on Usenet (for those who forgot or never knew, Usenet was like a ginormous text-only forum) and stumbled upon alt.sex.fetish.diapers. I was blown away. At the same time, the conversation there was of such a sexually explicit nature that my 18-year-old virgin brain just couldn't handle it. I'd glance periodically but I never posted anything. The thought of it made me feel dirty. Still, it was quite a revelation and definitely helped me feel better about myself over time.

I didn't communicate with any other ABDLs until I joined ADISC, about 17 years later. I don't think of myself as generally shy, but when it came to talking about diapers and baby stuff, I most definitely was shy!

Exactly the same for me. Then it was countless hours on dial up internet searching for more answers.

Put this into perspective in that I'm 75 years old so I've been around a long time before the internet. When I was around 11 or 12, I was aware that there were others who enjoyed wetting their pants as I had a friend who told me one day when we were using a public bathroom. In high school, my best friend's brother was made by his mother to wash out his own underwear because he was doing the same.

When I was in college and my mom discovered my stash, she told me that she had a friend who worked in a motel and the friend had talked about a traveling salesman customer who would use the motel regularly and they would always find the remains of his acting out his AB/DL fantasies. So I knew I wasn't alone but it didn't make it any easier accepting that I was "one of them".

It was good to know that I wasn't the only one.

But it was also bad because discovering that it is a sexual fetish and is closely related to mental disorders.

I really don't know if it was good to discover that I'm not the only one.😅

It was 1997, we had just gotten our first computer. Sometime after I figured out the internet, I typed D...I...A...P...E...R...S and the seas parted. That is when I found DPF, and I realized for the first time at 38 years old that I, "was not the only one". On that day a major weight had been lifted from my shoulders. I lived vicariously through DPF for many years following that. It was not until I was 57 that M2M diapered me... what a way to return! The last time that I had worn a diaper was at 29... that was my last purge. I thought that I could do it, I thought that I could give them up forever. Although I had abstained AB was always with me somehow.

Relieved. I found out because I was starting to have problems getting to the bathroom on time. And had gone to the doctor about it a couple times but nobody would take me seriously for a while. So during that time I felt like I had just had to take care of it myself because I was tired of having wet pants all the time. Once I found out there's people out here doing it for fun, it made me feel like maybe incontinence isn't such a terrible thing.

Yes, same for me. I've known from an early age that I enjoyed diapers and had no idea why. I can remember as a young child aways wanted to touch, smell, and wear them. At the baby-sitters, I would be more than happy to help with diaper changing time by gathering up diapers, and whatnot for her as she changed the babies one by one. Loved going shopping with mom and sneaking of to the diaper section to see an entire aisle of diapers. I did wet the bed back then and I wanted so much for my mom to put me in diapers at night. She finally did at the age of 5, I remember that day very well as she came home from the store with a large box of Pampers. That night, she diapered me and I was the happiest boy in the world. This went on for about a year and my wetting subsided. Fast forward several years to the mid-90's and that's when I discovered AOL. I to thought I was the only one and kept it as a secret. One day sitting there on dialup and typed in diapers and my world opened up to a whole new world of knowing I wasn't the only one. With chatrooms and DPF. I spent days doing as much research as I could on the subject.

I was one of the kids on the Goodnites forum. So many weirdos were there... I am so glad they shut that down. I had just been raped. I had a bad start, to say the least.

It was relieving, and exciting! Then I immediately felt like I was drinking from a fire hose. What resource could I find, or what site could I explore next!

Kind’ve overwhelming to go through on your own.

It was kind of a mix bag for me finding out I'm not the only one.

Part of me was relieved that it was not solely me who was into that kind of thing.

Part of me was kind of unsettled by how some forms of abdl are engaged by others.

It was basically the same story for me, but I was 16 when I discovered I wasn't alone, it was first at a public library where we could pay to have access to a computer to go on the Internet, thankfully the computers were isolated in their own private areas so we had the privacy to do any kind or search, let just know I didn't know back then that the content was somehow monitored by someone that could see everything I searched, I had a private discussion with their network admin who decided it was such a sensitive subject that as long as I didn't continue, he wouldn't talk about it with my parents (I was 16 so not an adult at that time). Then the following year we finally got a computer at home, but no Internet, my mother and father were very strict about it, they didn't want any Internet or modem on the PC because they were afraid of something that could happen, little they know about it, my brother and I got an used modem on the cheap side and we mounted it in the PC, and one of my brother friends got us a magic number with some usernames and passwords and we were online using what I think was a 2nd phone line that wasn't supposed to work but it worked. The funny thing is my parents checked the computer often and they didn't even notice the modem card we had installed. (I don't think they would make the difference between a modem card and a video card at that time)

I was happy and then it all felt normal if many people liked them. I found a bunch of message boards about it on AOL when I typed in 'adults wearing diapers" but I also remember many of them wore them for medical reasons and how no one said a word when they wore it all day because they never took it off. This was also the first time I heard about adult babies and I wasn't the only one who wished to be a baby again and be treated like one. I didn't know back then that paraphilic infantilism was done for humiliation and being dominated and controlled, not for comfort.

Let me guess, you were young and doctors didn't take you seriously because of your young age. Maybe told you to just go to the bathroom more and drink less fluids than trying to figure out why you were having this problem.

Around the time I started to wet the bed (about 9 years old), I became aware that others my age and older used diapers. I saw this when I would look through the Sears catalogs. (Being a detail-oriented person, when I look at catalogs, I always went from page 1 to the end.)

Several years after I stopped wetting the bed, (which was around 11 years old), I ordered some plastic pants from a mail order pharmacy.

These two things showed me that people other than babies also wore diapers BUT...

I never thought about these people WANTING to wear diapers. That is, I never thought about ABDL.

It wasn't until I started buying Penthouse Forum Magazine and others that I learned that other people actually liked to wear and use diapers.

And I was surprised that I wasn't alone in this desire.
