I have so many bills and so many priorities that I just cant afford to live like this anymore!!! How could anyone?! I work 14 dollars and hour and have to pay rent, and now a single diaper in a pack of 10 costs 4 dollars? I cant just shit out three dollars every hour! Thats almost a third of what I earn! Absolutely insane.

How have you all cut corners with these disorders? Any tips? Because at this rate I will be out of an apartment.

Occasionally, adult diaper vendors have sales where cases of diapers are up to 50% off.
During one of these sales, you basically just buy as much as you can, ideally your entire supply for a year, at maximum discount.
Even if you can't wait for a sale, at least try to buy diapers by the case - buying them in bags of 10 dramatically increases how much they cost.

You can also buy them using a HSA, FSA, or similar tax-advantaged account, which can also reduce your costs.
Or look into getting your medical insurance to pay for them.

Two other options are reducing your other bills (e.g: get a roommate and split the rent) or increasing your income (you might be surprised how many other jobs in your area pay more than $14/hour if you look, wages have increased a lot in the last couple of years).

My situation is much simpler than most, as I still have some measure of control for U-IC and F-IC. But on a pension now, I do spend a lot of time online looking at how I can save money on diapers. The first place to start is do you really need a $4 diaper for your needs? Especially, if you're going to chuck it in an hour.

So do some planning: some for longer wearing and some cheaper ones when you might not be wearing very long. I used to wear pull-ups during the day because most of the time I just use the toilet ok (and only sometimes had an accident). But even light pull-ups are more expensive than cheap briefs. I found that now I wear cheap briefs at half the cost.

To summarize, you need to get creative and explore options.

The Simon foundation for Continence has a listing of diaper banks and other such resources that you may find helpful: https://simonfoundation.org/resources/

You may want to try and find a diaper bank in your area, to my knowledge many of them provide adult diapers for those in need. I've also heard of prescription discount cards working for in-store purchases (Walgreens, etc.), though that's purely anecdote.

First off I would say buy in bulk if you can. Save an buy a case if you can that way cheaper per diaper. Also if you mess often then maybe look into cheaper diapers.

Not sure if your medical situation regarding incontinence so making suggestions is hard. But there are things you can do to help slow your gut down so you don’t go as often.

I would find a cheaper diaper option.
Wages have increased a lot last couple years. My 16 year old with no experience got a job making $20 hr at Target a while back. And I’m not in a big city.
Just a thought may be other options to make more $$.

RIGHT?!?!? Im looking for a super low absorbancy diaper so it can potentially cost a LOOOT less but I cant seem to find anything!
The least absorbent northshore is 33 dollars for 10 diapers. Thats still 3 bucks a diaper for absolute dogshit diapers! But these still seem to be bottom of the barrel ones. I feel stuck between these, Depends, or, maybe ill just throw in the towel and finally get a single reusable cloth diaper.
I found these jester colored ones and admittedly I think they look very cute,,, 👉👈

Iv been thinking of a roommate and its actually one of my goals! My big goal is to just get my illness back in remission because I am not incontinent most of the time, just in a flair up.

Aww glad you like it! Yeah I kinda stole it from elsewhere online, but it is adorable isn't it?

Getting a prescription for diapers is, to my knowledge, possible but difficult. It depends on your doctor, so I wouldn't bank on it. The prescription discount cards apparently work for them anyway, even if you don't have a prescription. But I haven't really tried it out personally, this is just second-hand accounts from years past

As far as cost per diaper, I highly recommend checking out https://www.llmedico.com. I recently put in an order for 60 betterdrys and 72 betterdry days (132 diapers, I usually use 3 a day so that's about 6 weeks supplies) and with a 10% discount and 5% off autoship, it cost me $175. That's ~$1.33/diaper. They also gave me $8.75 in store credit for my order, which means they were technically ~$1.26/diaper. It's hard to find them cheap nowadays but sometimes the clouds part and there's huge discounts that can really help.

I've personally given up on northshore for the time being. They make a good product, and I know there have been supply issues and difficulty getting materials from Europe which is responsible for the increased cost, but the cost for even the low range diapers is just too much to live with now. Especially with how pricey supremes/supreme lites are.

I am starting to alternate brands, mainly NRU str8ups and Betterdry, depending how bad my digestive system flare ups are.
I wiil admit, it does get expensive, but thanks to the diapers, I can work fulltime and get overtime.
Not all days are bad, just gratefull I can manage it with diapers.🙂

Check out Abena M4
on US Amazon they work out to less than 1.70 per diaper
on Canada Amazon about 1.90 each
if you need bigger look for Abena L4

Incontinence can be an expensive condition, that's for sure. I buy in bulk whenever I can to get a better price per diaper. This also means you need to find the space to store hundreds of diapers at a time.

Only you can determine whether it is worth using cloth diapers for fecal incontinence. I am fecal incontinent and, for me, it was not worth all the additional soaking and laundering. If your bowel movements are predictable you might use a disposable only for that period and cloth diapers the rest of the time.

There are disposable and reusable liners available to make cleaning out poop much easier from a diaper and to prevent fecal staining. That said, they only work if the stool is firm. I use disposables during the morning hours that my IBS is clearing things out. It would be a nightmare cleaning cloth diapers for that mess!

Definitely buy in bulk to keep unit price lowest. Yes, I often have a closet full of 'supplies' just to be on the safe side. Plan for this.

For using disposables for F-IC, at least for me, they are easier than reusable. I've always been IC and most of my accidents are while sleeping and additionally, most of them are solid (semi-soft to firm). I suppose I could use cloth diapers but to be honest I'm just lazy. Costs have never been a concern. If you do have issues about the costs you can always use cloth diapers and disposable liners (as some other members has noticed).
