Hello! Curious to meet like minded folks here. I have loved diapers my whole life and don't know why. I wish I understood why, but it is what it is. I work in technology and like outdoor activities like gardening, hiking, camping, and metal detecting. Being a DL (less of an AB) leads to isolation, as in sure many of you have also experienced. To share my secret with others and "be seen" without fear or shame is something I hope to get from my time here.

Welcome, I’m a huge gardener - fell into the rabbit hole of permaculture and removing all my lawn grass and replacing with pollinator friendly plants and edible.

I love that! I have done that in my back yard where I have full sun. City frowns on that in the front. Local codes don't concern themselves with the health of the ecosystem. I plant lots of dill for black swallowtails and predatory insects that keep my veggies pest free. Wild flowers and milkweed for nectar and monarch food. Spring is coming!!

Welcome, James (@detroitdl)!

…Where are you from? :)

Metal detecting seems like fun. I’ve seen people with metal detectors out on the beaches here, and one guy I talked to said he’d found multiple wedding rings and loads of old coins. I’m something of a rockhound though. I enjoy the surface finds as well!

As for gardening, I do a bit of that in the summer, and I also keep goats. They’re like…the opposite of a garden. :)

I hope you find the site fun and supportive. This has been my virtual ABDL hangout for a while. It’s important to be able to share this stuff and feel accepted, weirdness and all.

Hello James, welcome here, I as well as many others can relate to many things you said in your intro, think we’re all looking for answers, great intro by the way. I’m interested in metal detecting too, although I haven’t been for years, hope you have fun with us here 😁👍🏻

We just got 30cm of snow yesterday and it’s -23C high today …. Lolololol. I’m lucky, my town actually paid $2800 (half of the total cost) of us converting the front lawn 2 augusts ago into just drought tolerant plants And mulch. We get lots of low River warnings in the summer and often have droughts so they are very much into water conservation. Many people have plants, rocks, mulch front yards instead of grass. But my celery is happily growing inside and just about time to seed some flowers.

I have so many hover flies, lace wings, spiders, bees - no monarchs here but I have planted a bunch of native plants that caterpillars use so hopefully I get a lovely butterfly nursery going. I had anise swallowtail last year on my lovage!

Hi Cottontail!

I'm from the Detroit area.

Metal detecting is great fun. I haven't found big treasure, but a 1924 gold class ring is my best find. Mostly modern coins because I spend most time on public beaches vs. Private property that could have older, less picked over treasures. It's a good excuse to be outside.

Goats? Yes! Definitely the opposite of a garden LOL!

Thanks for the welcome.

See you around here.

James

Hi Warmfeeling!

Thanks for the welcome! Have you ever seen magnet fishing videos on YouTube? Similar to metal detecting, but only pulls ferrous metal artifacts from ponds, canals, or streams. Crazy things found under water! Little of value being rusty iron, but interesting to watch.

Hi Karmababy2,

Your backyard is beautiful! I see a pretty white kitty hanging out there. I have three cats, 2 black males, one white female.

And, wow! To get such a nice subsidy on your yard transformation is wonderful. I can't imagine my city doing that!

Do you know what kind of butterfly caterpillar is in that second photo? What plant is it on?

James

Welcome! I also work in tech right now and am more of a DL than an AB. I 100% related to you regarding the being seen and no fear or shame part. I was a DL for over 20+ years and lived in fear and shame and never even thought of joining these forums or chats or discords or anything out of fear of myself. I've spent the past few weeks exploring this lifestyle, finally buying diapers for the first time a few months ago, and now am wearing most of the time now and my family knows about it and is very accepting and understanding and has no issue with me ordering stuff to the house.

I've met tons of amazing people here and everyone is so open and honest. It feels so great to just open up and talk with people that are likeminded and you can relate with. I'd love to just go to a convention some time and/or make some longtime friends that are ABDL and do normal stuff with as well. There's nothing better than being with people that just get you.

With that said, I welcome you, and I hope you have a great time. We have a discord server (check the 'Discord' button at the top) with lots of active people including myself and many others. There's also tons of forum sections with helpful information and to share our love for anything diapers and adult baby. :) It's a place free of judgment and where you can let your ABDL desires run wild. Enjoy yourself!

Here's one of my monsters, looking particularly crazed over the clam chowder he dove into, face first!
