Basically lol.

I buy ABDL diapers and they end up sitting there for ages because they're so pretty I don't want to use them. Like I've got half a bag of Little Pawz that I bought in 2016 in my stash. Just looking pretty. (Love them, so cute)

I bought a case of Crinklz last year and have BARELY used half of them. Still have an unopened bag of aquanauts before they changed the packaging too. And just bought a bag of the new NorthShore Supreme Lites in blue. Which of course I haven't come close to finishing.

My stash isn't huge, but space is limited. I say as I want to buy the other colors of the Lites and something from Rearz.

I'm curious if anyone else does this...

Yes, I do. I still have first gen SDKs, some old cushies, cuddlz and fabines. Plastic backed Tena max. Even a couple of diapers from 20 years ago 😄
It’s the memories that keep me from using them. Although recently I have decided to use the old ones because I have too many different diapers now. With all the very high quality diapers that are currently on the market, I think the old ones will be quickly forgotten.

I'll buy a new kind of diapers and use 90% of them, then switch off to "save a few for later". This was fine in the beginning, but now I have an overwhelming amount of diapers (not of them the best for keeping you leak-free) that I don't use but don't want to throw out because "what if I run out". When I first became IC I'd delay on reordering good diapers and have a day or two waiting for my delivery where I'd have to make do with pharmacy-grade diapers. Now I prefer to have a stash built up, but I think it might be TOO built up, haha.

When it comes to IC I wouldn't want to throw them out either!

Even if they are on the lesser side of quality there's always double and triple diapering

Same here. I like to have a good variety of diapers, so I usually have several brands on hand at any given time.

me too ;)

@Sheepies you are preaching to the choir miss. In the last months i had packs of Bambino/DC amor/Rearz and i just HAD to get a pack of Crinklz and Confi-dry as well so my two drawers of diapers are full still and still have like 3 more packs in the closet! AND im thinking of eventually getting a case of Coni-dry

Stocking a quantity of something is hoarding if it serves no purpose (e.g. empty cases), or interferes with your normal life functions (e.g. you can't put clothes in your closet because it is too full of diapers), or can be better achieved another way (e.g. there's no point keeping hundreds of cans of peas because you can just go to the supermarket if you need them). Keeping a wide selection of different diaper brands that you cannot now buy, but enjoy looking at and/or occasionally using, is not necessarily hoarding.

With many specialist ABDL brands now well established, I agree with Makubird that we are in a good place to move on from some of the older designs, but it's interesting to keep some examples available for comparison, especially ones that I wore for a few years or more and got to know inside out (not literally, you understand!) When I think - 'wow, this is way more absorbent than brand X,' it's nice to be able to pull a few brand X from stock and test the theory. Variety is the spice of life.
