I'm sorry if there's another thread about this but I couldn't find one.

I am going to try to start wearing in another couple weeks. Goodnites have been suggested to me to start out with. I don't think I'll wet in them just yet and I've been told that if I do I should do it slowly.

Those who have tried Goodnites before, girls especially, what was your experience and how would you rate them? I don't want to spend 18 dollars on something that might not pan out well.

Thanks!

Not a girl (obviously) but goodnites worked well for me when I could fit into them. I've heard they have gotten a little worse over the years but are still "okay"

They're not a true diaper so I wouldn't go flooding them... but they should be able to stand up to a slow wetting without too much of a problem.

I'm not a girl, however I have tried Goodnites before. Quite frankly they are the worst pullup you can buy. Honestly, unless you are stuck on the whole Goodnite thing, I would recomend Depends Fitted Maximum protection. These however are a tape on and not a pull up, I'm not sure if you just wanted a pull up or were open to any suggestions.

My experience with them has been that they don't hold much, but you said you didn't plan on using them so I guess that wouldn't be a problem for you. They are also thin (which is good for wearing around freinds and stuff like that) but being thin again means less absorbancy. Well I hope this helps.

I'd probly go with those or pull ups untill you get used to wearing. They don't hold as much as most of the other stuff but they're alot more discrete.

The only reason you should get them is if they're all you can get. They won't fit that well, they're really thin and they're hardly absorbent at all. If you wet them at any rate faster than a few drops every now and then, they'll just flood and leak everywhere.

And even if you don't plan to use them, they don't really feel that great. They're good for discreetness because they're so thin - so you can wear them and no one will notice - but this also means it's not particularly enjoyable to wear them.

They're better than nothing though, so go for them unless you have access to something else.

Well I'm a girl and I love them. I don't know why people always say they always leak. The only time they have leaked on me if I have flooded and I sat down right after. I think they fit fine, they fit me and I'm quite curvy, and they can also hold about 3 full wettings, so I say go for it! (Always a bonus that they are cute too!)

It depends what you want. If you like cute diapers, and want to wear goodnites because baby diapers won't fit, then I'd say goodnites are a good choice.
But... If you're after a diaper you can use, that won't leak and all that, then they are a bad choice.
If you can get adult diapers, then I'd say go for them instead.

I think the thing is... she may want some "choice" when it comes to actually going in her pants or not. Regular diapers don't provide that... and any adult-sized pullup sucks... so goodnites are a logical choice.

In my experience, I've found adult pull-ups are one hell of a lot better than goodnites!

I love them but I feel that they are different than the past time I had them. Also I find that after a night, they are really stretched out. In all, I still love them especially the girls ones.

Which brand have you tried?

And I'm not meaning just absorbancy... I mean comfort too.
Some depends breifs things. They're not perfect, but they feel so much better than goodnites in every way. Goodnites are too thin, too small and never seem to stay in the right place.

hmm, i think goodnites are the same as drynites, right?

If so, they don't feel much like a nappy. But, if you try filling it with something else it may be better.

Although, as they are your first, i advice you to try them

Asuka, not a girl myself, but have tried the large girls Goodnites for the cuteness factor. Here's a brief review I posted several weeks back FWIW to help answer your question.

"First, the Goodnites. They are rated for weights up to 125lbs and still fit my 145lbs pretty well. Snug, but not uncomfortably so. I got the girls Goodnites with ballerinas and hearts on them because they looked cuter. I wanted to check out the whole diaper experience and so wore them in different situations. I slept in them, wore them while driving the kids to work, rode the zebra with just a diaper and T-shirt on, got in a pram dressed the same way and laid back in it between the couch and chair to try napping. Oh, and even went as far as wet in them a few times!

About actually using them. I always found it fascinating for newbies to come here saying they had a hard time wetting in their diaper at first. Seemed like it would be the easiest thing to do when you had to go. Now I know what they mean! I could easily do it standing up or sitting on the commode, but anywhere else was very difficult, even with the urge. Good thing because Goodnites in that size could only accomodate the contents of an adult bladder if partially full. I stood in the tub letting go of a full bladder once and nearly full bladder another time, and the diaper leaked badly before I had finished each time. The only time I didn't wear them around the house was when my PJs were on and the kids were home. They have just enough *crinkle* to be heard under pajamas, but not with shirt and jeans on."

I'm a girl, and I really like goodnites. They're discreet, pretty much not noticeable under a pair of jeans. I think they can hold one good wetting, but after that you might be pushing it. Wetting in small bursts can help increase the typical capacity. My only complaint would be that I have 36" hips, and sometimes the sides rip when I'm sleeping.

If you get the new boxer-style kind, let us know how they are.

The original style goodnites are much better than the new boxer style. The new boxer style is much smaller and less absorbent than the old style.

From my expeirance I can actually understand the guys and girls point of view for this pull up. One because I am a guy and have tried them myself and two because my ex gf wore them for a period of time so I had expeirance of how they worked for her.

So I will start out with me, well when I used them like 4-5 years ago, they were okay. I think that some people do stretch out how bad they are. They are decent I would say, specially for a beginers diaper. I can also agree that if you pee too quickly the absorption can not keep up, and can possibly over flow before the goodnite is even half full!!! Although if you were to pee a steady (not slow and not fast) stream you will be able to get in an easy 12 ounces (a whole soda can) according to several reviews and claims from company I have seen.

Now when I had my ex wear these, they did seem to work much much better for her. They rarely leaked for her, and when they did it was only a small spot or two when she sat down. I think there is a gender difference here that is causing the effectiveness to vary. Goodnites claims to position the absorbancy in a different place for females, more suitable for the way they pee, so I think that also helps keep it leaking for the girls. On top of that, most of the time girls do not pee as long or as hard as most men. I know from expeirance trust me. From what I have seen an average girl has an average pee of 10-15 seconds, which is nothing really. A goodnite would easily be able to hold that, unless you were like laying on your side of sitting with all your weight on your butt when peeing.

So overall I would say it is a good choice for females, specially beginning females. Like said before, they are great for being discreet, which works in females favor for their tight jeans and clothes, ect. Plus from what I see in my life and on this site, they really do not leak for girls much, for reasons I predicted above. So I say go for it. Plus they are SUPER cute on girls! :D
