An interesting comment in lilbabymikey's final post (he said it was to be his last) took me by surprise. http://www.adisc.org/forum/adult-baby/4384-taking-care-little-one.html Maybe I'm a bit naive when it comes to the subject of pedos, but this was the first time I had read a supposedly true life account of a woman, a mom in particular, sexually abusing her own child. Thought I'd draw from ADISC member's knowledge here. Just how prevalent is female pedophilia and child abuse? How many cases have you heard of?

To my dismay, all I've ever heard about is older adult males abusing or molesting both boys and girls from teen years on down. Makes me extremely upset that my gender and age group is marked by so many cases of pedophilia. It's at the point I go out of my way not to show outward affection for any kids other than my own and very close friends who know my wife and I very well. Shame it has to be this way because I feel younger children are very precious and enjoy being able to talk to them, hold them, and give them an affectionate, fatherly hug.

Anyway, as I mentioned at the outset, reading mikey's comment was a real eye opener for me and I'm curious about how serious a problem female pedophilia/abuse is in relation to male. Do you think the problem is increasing or is rare, isolated, and staying about the same as it's been in the recent past? I'm guessing it's more rare myself, though as I admitted I'm not all that *up* on every news report on the subject. What's your thoughts on the subject, and how much have you read or heard in the news about it? Thanks!

I've heard of women that do it, but it's usually the men you hear about

I've heard cases of mothers, errm... "Renting out" their children to paedophiles, I guess this counts. This happened on the Yior site (a paedo site passing itself off as an AB site)... a mother let paedos take pictures (and God knows what else) of her children. Pretty sick really, though she's in jail now.

You tend to hear about old men being paedophiles, but often it's younger people too. It's true that you seldom hear about women being paedos... Women stereotypically seems less sexual than men, or at least seem less likely to act impulsively on sexual urges than men. But then maybe that's a load of rubbish...

But I'm sure there's plenty of female paedophiles.

If I can put this in this forum, how do pedos get treated, as it is a part of human sexuality, it cannot be changed. So what is there to do?

I give you The big list: Female teachers with students !

Some of those I wouldn't mind being fondled by either.

Men have bigger libidos than women. There's nothing sterotypical about--It's true. It's a fact on a chemical level as well as a psychological level. We men are pumped full of testosterone. We're also bigger and stronger than women, and we always have been. It's in our brain and flows through our blood. It's an evolution thing. This is why sexy women are used to sell products, but not sexy men.

Evolutionarily speaking, Briers hypothesized, unfulfilled sexual arousal could trigger a subconscious belief that one's reproductive status is at stake.

Rendered fearful, men reach out for other "resources" — a quick payoff, fast food — to better their chances for survival.
But we're also a lot more creative when subjected to sexual stimuli. Take that, ladies!

as Charlie said there are probably plenty of female paedophiles out these, we just dont get to read about it in the newspaper.

Could it be that some people might think its not as bad as a male paedophile? I think its just as wrong but look at the episode Miss teacher bangs a boy from South Park.
Its about this teacher banging her 3 year old student, and everyone in the town says "nice" and "where was all these messed up hot girls when I was a kid?" now I know its a cartoon but IMO South Park is a pretty smart cartoon that usually takes up daily problems like presidental voting or the n-word. even though some may think its just fart humor its much more so its not like Im getting this idea from just some random stupid cartoon like e.g. some random cartoon network show

Most reports of female paedophilia I hear are about teachers cracking onto their students. Other than that, I haven't heard much about it at all.

Female pedos exist, they're just very rare. I think it's something like 1% or 10% are females, which is about the same as every other paraphilia (except BDSM which is much more equalized between genders for some reason). So that's one of the reasons you don't hear about female pedos often.

Another reason, as has already been pointed out, is that there is a serious double standard when it comes to child/teen-adult sexual relations. A man has sex with a girl or a boy and its seen as rape. A woman has sex with a boy and all you'll hear are comments like "damn, where were these women when I was 10 years old?!". I suppose part of the reason is that people have a view that women can't rape a male since in order to have sex the male has to be sexually aroused and willing. Oddly enough when it comes to male child sex offenders society is still outraged whether or not the kid "consented" to it. For example, look at To Catch a Predator. All the "young teens" on there are whores, talking about how much they want sex and that they've already had it before, yet people are still outraged when the guy shows up. Make that conversation between a boy and a grown woman and you've got the makings of a coming of age comedy movie.

Yet another reason is the society's opinion of sexual relationships in general. For a female it's a good thing to be a virgin/innocent and bad to have lots of sexual experience (and even more so the younger the female is). For a male it's the exact opposite; it's good to have tons of sexual experience and bad to be a virgin. Homosexual encounters are also very frowned upon. So taking those things into account it comes as no surprise that a girl having sex at any point in her childhood/before legal age will be viewed with extreme contempt (either for whoever had sex with her if there was a large age gap or for the girl herself if it was with a peer). For a boy sex is only bad when its with a man because that's gay. If it's with a woman he's practically congratulated. The only exception might be if it was a really young boy.

Finally, women may not get reported on as much simply because they can get away with a lot more thanks to their societal roles. A woman hugs a kid she just met: she's showing affection. A man hugs a kid he just met: OMFG PEDO! (for a real life example just search for "Vladimir Putin kisses boy" on google). Women are seen as nurturers and thus are allowed much more intimate contact with children than men before crossing a taboo line. Men, on the other hand, are almost expected by society to be some distant to kids. The result is that people watch men much more closely when they interact with kids than when a woman does.

In high school one of my classes watched a video about adolescent crime. One of the cases it talked about was that of a boy who shot and killed his mother because she was sexually abusing him. I forget any of the details so I can't find a wiki/news article about the case, but it has happened.

Right on the money, Ecto! Couldn't have said it any better. And that's the part which really deeply hurts guys like myself who can have just as much feelings for little children as any woman, and have no ill intent with our show of affection whatsoever. You might have seen my thread in this forum from April about the little foster girl I wanted so much to adopt because I developed the same love for her I have for my own two children. Sadly, we just weren't in a position to, or she'd be our little girl now! In her case, the foster caregivers were our good friends, and I could be closer to her - pick her up, give her a hug, hold her hand - things a dad would do with his daughter.

Unfortunately, due to this sick world, we usually have to 'walk on eggshells' so to speak as to what we do or say when with a young child not our own, for fear it would be grossly misinterpreted. Like you so truly pointed out, "You see him hugging that child?! He's got to be one of those sicko, pedo creeps!":frown:

This is similar to when a woman rape a man: not so common, but it Happens.

Last year, here, some female kindergarten teachers were arrested for a suspected abuse of their little pupils, but they were released for some reasons.

I don't know if what news said was the truth, but when I read reports of what childern told to police about teachers used to do on them on a newspaper, I was a bit scared.

I've Heard too about Mothers selling pics of their children to paedos or letting them babysit it.
Obviously, something gone wrong in their minds. Mothers who act like this must be sent in an asylum.

Perhaps the reason we don't hear about as many female pedophiles is because some boys would love to "do it" with a hot blond woman?

guilty to six charges SPACE she was sentenced to six years in prison.
only two years of probation
200 sexual encounters. In December 2006, she received three and half years in prison, with all but one year suspended, and four years probation.
lesbian relationship with a 15-year-old girl. She received no prison time,
Don't male offenders get so much more prison time?

I speak in British English because I have dialectical vitamins

Yikes!!! Well Prometheus, I asked about news reports surrounding sexual mis-conduct of women towards kids and you sure provided plenty! I know these convicted women only represent a small fraction of all the school caregivers in the US, but still.....:frown:

Heh, seems like a lot of the female teachers were with high school upperclassmen... If that's the case (ages 16 and 17). Then it's more a matter of poor discretion, likely ignorance of various socioeconomic problems with a student-teacher relationship, then pedophilia.

Besides, sex between a teenager and an adult is called "Ephibophilia" to be exact...

But on the original topic, female paedo's do exist. Maybe as common as men even...

But I think the whole "crazy gay man stereotype" sort of led to the usage of men as always being pedophiles just because men were ALREADY more acceptable to portray as perverts.

And I'm sure such media bias allows plenty of women to molest their 6 year old kids and get away with it. Sigh.

i'm not sure, but i think i've heard of that after the last big female teacher/student sex issue went down in the news. i want to say that most pedo females only get a max of 3 or 4 years where for guys it's about 8 to 10. this is only speculation though. i'm not sure on the specifics.
