Every year, I have trouble getting past the commercialistic aspects of what Christmas has become. But, when I see my favorite christmas shows, it kind of gets me back in the right frame of mind. I have 2 to start out the thread.

My absolute eternal favorite is:

A Charlie Brown Christmas

It so reminds me of christmas as a child, and a simpler existence. The soundtrack absolutely kills. And its calm.

Next, Rocko's Modern Christmas

Rocko ummm, well, rocks. SPUNKYYYYYYY!

I actually like Santa Claus is coming to town, the claymation cartoon from like the 70's o.o I almost kind of have to watch it every year.

Charlie Brown Christmas is the undisputed winner in my mind. I absolutely love that movie and the music in it is so classic.

By far it's Rudolf The Red Nosed Reindeer. I remember when it came out way back in 1964 and I was a little 6 year old boy. I can remember taking my bath early and having my bed time cloth diapers put on so I would not miss any of it. I also love It's a Wonderful Life too.

You took the words out of my mouth. That, and the Rudolf that is like it are my favorite movies, of ALL times.

See, I don't know the names of Christmas movies, but I know them when I see them! Like the one animated Roudolf movie with the fairies, I like that! And a few others that I can't think of off the top of my head.

I never really got into those 30minute 'specials' at Christmas...
  1. Frosty the Snowman
  2. Santa Claus is Coming to Town
  3. Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer (the one with the elf that wants to be a dentsit)
  4. The Little Drummer Boy
  5. A Charlie Brown Christmas
  6. How the Grinch Stole Christmas (the original animated version with Boris Karloff)
  7. Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus
  8. Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol
  9. etc

I preferred the movies
  1. White Christmas
  2. Holiday Inn
  3. Miracle on 34th Street (the black & white versions)
  4. A Christmas Carol (the black & white version)
  5. The Sound of Music (even tho' it's not really a Christmas film, it was always shown every year at Christmas)
  6. etc

Tři oříšky pro Popelku <--- That one.

Wikipedia:
Tři oříšky pro Popelku (German: Drei Haselnüsse für Aschenbrödel, English: Three Nuts for Cinderella, Three Gifts for Cinderella [UK title] and Three Wishes for Cinderella) is a Czech-German fairy-tale film from 1973.
I've watched it every 24th of December, for as long as I can remember. I don't know why I watch it anymore. Really, to be perfectly honest, it's not that good.
I used to watch it togheter with my two sisters when I was younger, so I guess it's just plain old melancholy chiming in. *shrugs*

EDIT:
This year I'm starting the tradition of watching Tim Burton's "A nightmare before christmas"
I can't bloody believe I haven't done so before!

The cartoon of How the Grinch Stole Christmas. It's short but I remember watching it pretty much every Christmas. I don't now, but I can remember looking forward to it. I don't even know where it is shown now :frown:

What I am looking forward to this Christmas - the Dr Who Christmas special, Christmas Day, BBC1. I can't wait for it. I am looking forward to it more then any presents and definitely far more then spending time with my family *shivers*. It'll probably be the highlight of Christmas for me.

On those claymation things- sorta creepy. The worst one was what I have henceforth labelled Pedophile Santa, and not because of my thread... It's this rosy-cheeked, red-haired man in a santa suit with little boys and girls all around and singing,

"If you sit on my lap today
A kiss a toy is the price you pay
If you sit on my left knee
Don't be stingy, be prepared to pay
Come on, don't you have a little love?"

Or something like that. My vulgar version:

By the way, I recently found out that this has been discontinued, it is no longer available in stores because it was yanked from the entire Santa Claus Is Coming To Town set! But (lucky me) I still have it on tape.
