At least we have some hard rockers on here...

Of the first three, here are my picks
Breaking Benjamin: The Diary of Jane
Skillet: Monster
3 Doors Down: Citizen Soldier

Others I've been into lately:
Halestorm: Rock Show
Volbeat: Still Counting
Five Finger Death Punch: Lift Me Up (feat. Rob Halford)
Shinedown: Adrenaline
In This Moment: Blood
Otherwise: Vegas Girl
Avenged Sevenfold: Welcome to the Family
Stone Sour: Gone Sovereign/Absolute Zero
Korn: Twisted Transistor
Eve to Adam: Straitjacket Supermodel

Haven't had a chance to see Breaking Benjamin or 3 Doors Down play live, have seen all the others play at one time or another (or multiple times), have even met Halestorm, Otherwise, and Rob Caggiano of Volbeat. Have tickets to go see Volbeat play in April. Of the lists above, I've also seen Steve Vai and Bullet for My Valentine live.

I've always sucked at naming favorites, but I'd just like to say you guys have a great taste in music.

To give you an idea of what I like:
I enjoy classic rock, hard rock, various metal, death, technical death, thrash, melodic death, progressive, and some core but not much, I enjoy some electronic music as well like edm, house, drum and bass, drumstep, some dubstep as long as it's in good taste. I'll listen to pretty much any genre, as long as it has a good sound to it I like really, but metal and electronic are my two big genres I listen to.

Grateful Dead. 2nd and 3rd place aren't even in the same zip code.

I've got a pretty substantial collection. Mostly rock, some classical, some folk, some traditional, maybe half of it on vinyl, but the Dead comprise the most significant part of it. Their style(s) cover so many bases that its not hard to find a few songs to suit no matter what your mood.

Edit: for those who don't understand the Dead thing, Jerry once summed it up nicely: "Not everyone likes licorice, but those who do, really, really like licorice"

I know I probably said this before, but...

Dream Theater...It's too hard for me to pick a song. I usually listen to every CD from beginning to end singing rather loudly. There's no weakness in this band. The music gives me goosebumps time and time again.

Opeth - Deliverance
Opeth - Window Pane
Symphony X - Oddysey
Protest the Hero - Palms Read
Acid Bath - Scream of the Butterfly
Acid Bath - Finger Paintings of the Insane
Black Dahlia Murder - I'm Charming
Firewind - Set the World on Fire
Symphony X - The Divine Wings of Tragedy
Nevermore - Believe in Nothing

I'll stop before my list gets too long.

I've been listening to:

(1) London Grammar. This band sounds like Florence and the Machine on Valium! Beautiful, serene, and tranquil. Awesome vocals.

(2) The Augustines. They sound like a combination of Bob Seeger and Bruce Springsteen. Great, majestic anthemic music with arena-type rock chants.

(3) Beck. Thoughtful, articulate rock music, with shades of Pink Floyd and Bob Dylan.

I suppose I should note that, even though I'm old, and a confirmed Deadhead, I do listen to some things made this century. Of note, The Black Keyes. I was out with Junior one day, his iphone controlling my sound system when he said "Hey, check this out. Doesn't it remind you a little of Hendrix?" Don't recall the specific Black Keyes song, but they've infiltrated my play lists since.

With St. Paddy's Day approaching, playlists will include the likes of The Chieftains, The Pogues, Horslips, and Rory Gallagher.
