So far I have not had any infections caused by Nappy wearing, either cloth or disposable.
On the other hand using a catheter and tape on drain device both gave me really serious infections reducing my bladder control on each occasion so another infection may be the end of what little control I do have 😠
So it's Nappies all the way for me.
Always remember cleanliness is paramount on so many levels.

What does the urologist say? Have you been checked if you can't empty your bladder properly and if you have residual urine? This can be a cause for such problems...

Yes. I had plenty bladder infections in the past. Differing in degree from mild to having a sepsis. Was is hospital 30x +. Better be carefully.
To prevent it everything was tried and done by the specialists. Did intermittand catheters for 15 years. Since 10 years I have an Interstim neurostimulator.
But the best improvement was when I started taking D-Mannose Cranberry supplements.

I recently felt like I was getting a bladder infection. So I started to make an effort to completely void to the last drop and consume some "straight cranberry juice" for a while. By straight, I mean that this juice did not have other juices blended in. The problems vanished within a few days. I plan on having it checked with my next blood work appointment (w urine sample).

I have considered super pubic catheter isolated is not going to urethra direct to the bladder to the bag

My urologist suggested low dose nitrofruantoin, no more uti's so far. What drug did start you on?

The worst I got was a yeast infection around my crotch (typically warm and moist). I've never had a U infection and I've always been IC.

Some people are more prone to chronic UTI
You can be super hygienic and still get them.
Keeping things very clean is of course a must.
I get 1-2 a year and just get a 1 dose antibiotic and it's cleared up in like 2 days
Some people swear by pure cranberry juice to help reduce UTI
your experience may vary. I find it helps prevent but doesn't help once it's started.
If you do caths you are more prone as you risk getting contamination up your urethea. But generally diaper use with proper hygiene alone doesn't cause them.

The only urinary tract infections that I've had have been when I was using a catheter. Wearing diapers has been the best way to manage my incontinence without having to worry about infections.

Yes I too drink Cranberry juice as I heard it helps fight off UTI's. I don't like cranberry juice much so I also take Cranberry capsules of dried cranberry powder available from the Pharmacy. This was recommended by a Pharmacist friend of mine.

My dual ic used to lead to me getting UTIs. I believe much of the cause was from feces and fecal bacteria moving forward in my diaper. Several years ago I began adding a folded terry hand towel as a liner and on many occasions a folded terry bath towel as a soaker. The terry towels are folded in thirds and then when in place the front and back are unfolded with the portion between my legs remaining folded forming a “V” in the front and back. The part that remains folded creates a barrier to prevent fecal material and bacteria moving forward while the “V” formed in the rear catches this material. The “V” formed in the front catches urine and prevents leaks when I sleep on my side and the highly absorbent terry cloth then wicks the urine it absorbed quickly to the outer cloth diaper. So far I haven’t had a UTI since using this combination (knock on wood!).
