The purpose of this thread is to provide information and support to our members who are interested in wearing diapers in a public situation.

Over the years I've seen a lot of discussions on the subject of wearing in public. Some of us do every day and enjoy it, some do only on certain occasions, some haven't yet but want to, some are scared to death of being "discovered", and there are a few others just don't have the desire to do so at all.

My real feelings on this matter tend to surface when I see threads about working up the nerve to wear out in public for the first time, or wearing at a special event or occasion... where the practicality of a diaper might just come in handy.

I see that we are primarily divided into two camps here. On one side we have the "Yes, do it!" folks. On the other is the "You don't want to do that." group.

Obviously I am of the "Yes, do it!" persuasion. This comes from experience. I've been wearing 24/7 for over a year now... every day, everywhere, all the time. I've been in many many situations and I can honestly say that I can't ever remember a really bad diaper experience. I've shared the fact that I do wear diapers with a few select friends and co-workers... and have found them to be tolerant. I've even been the (padded) butt of a few comedic jibes... and I don't mind. Actually... aside from the financial cost involved (about $100 a month for good diapers) I am left wondering "Why didn't I start this sooner."

So... when I tell people "Go for it!" I mean it. In my experiences once you are over the initial jitters you will realise that going out and living the rest of your life while wearing diapers is really no big deal. It makes the everyday and mundane more enjoyable, you will realise that nobody notices you... and if anyone does notice, they don't care.

There are thousands (if not millions) of individuals worldwide who choose to wear diapers every day for protective reasons... these people exist in the world without society being shocked and amazed at their presence... in fact they blend right in with everyone else. The only people who notice diapers are people who are on the look-out for them.

Now... for the part where you come in.

Those of you who do wear in public... be it daily or on occasion. Please share your experiences here.

Those of you who abstain from wearing in public. Please tell us why you do so... and "I'm afriad to." or "I've never tried." doesn't count. If you've had a bad experience, share with us.

Thank you.

i'll occasionally wear diapers out on errands or something if i can't be bothered to take it off. i won't wear one if i'm going to be around friends, or even if i think there's a chance i might run into someone i know. i would never dream of wearing one to work. the few times i've been around friends and family with diapers on it's made me feel preoccupied and unsociable. it's not just that i'm paranoid about being found out, although that's part of it. mostly it's the fact that wearing diapers is an inward experience, and i can't fully be myself, socially, when i have one on.

You aren't the first girl I've heard this from... and I find that disconcerting. Is there just a rash of ass-grabbing going around or what? Where I'm from you didn't dare grab a girl's rear end in school... that was asking for a slap to the face and a report for sexual harassment... probably a suspension.

Also... if some unsuspecting guy grabs your ass and you are diapered... what is he going to say? The thought of "That's a diaper!" is probably the last thing on people's minds. If they notice at all... they will probably be left with a classic "WTF" moment... and you can play it off with a simple "IDK what you are talking about." line.

I wear diapers to school every now and again. No one ever seems to notice, or if they do, they don't care. Though, there's no way I'd wear to PE, for incredibly obvious reasons. (Not to mention that half the people in that class are BEGGING for reasons to poke fun at me, valid or not.)

All in all, I'd say it's fun. XD;

I'm pretty sure one of the women cutting hair at my wife's beauty salon was wearing a diaper. I could see the bulging in her butt, but then I knew what to look for. She is somewhat older, probably a mother of a number of children. Women have problems in that area sometimes.

As for me, I have worn in public a few times, in the winter when my coat covers my butt. I wouldn't wear to work, but I work in a Junior High school, so it's kind of a no brainer for me.

I've only walked around the neighborhood and going to the stores in close proximity padded, but it's just a regular old thing. Pretty much not scared of people around me or anything. Not too bad at all. Wear at home maybe 80% of the time right now, even in front of family.

I doubt I'll wear to school or where I might see friends though. I know I don't have any friends within walking distance, so that's good. But I won't specifically for the reason most of the girls don't wear to school.

My ass gets grabbed and pinched alot too. Or slapped on a few occasions. I just attract girls who are into ass it seems. Lots of my girlfriends have been that way, and my ass gets lots of attention from people in general. Even a few guys have grabbed it before. Kinda odd.

What's my friends' excuses? "Nerds, artists, dumbasses, and perverts, all touchy people?"

Here's a question for people who need to or do carry around changes and whatnot, how exactly do you get rid of the used ones? Baggy and throw it away? Just throw it away? What kind of baggy? How soon and whatnot? Store the used inside of a baggy, inside of your 'diaperbag?'

I am perfectly fine with wearing in public, I jsut don't do it often because of issues of convenience. Most of my close friends know about it anyways and don't care...however I abstain from wearing them when my parrents are home, I hate making them uncomfertable. Idealy, i would like to be padded 60 percent of the time

I think too often people try to push those who are uncomfortable straight into public wearing. I personally found it to be something I had to slowly come to grips with and get comfortable with.

When I first started expressing my interest in AB/TB/DL'ism I was deeply ashamed of it and thought I was some sort of odd-ball or freak. I would only wear something if I was completely alone and knew I was going to be completely alone for quite some time.

As I got older and began buying my own real adult diapers instead of trying to make due with baby diapers or similar I discovered through experience and observation that the people in the store really didn't seem to care at all. Every time I bought more I got more and more confident, and to be honest it started to lose a little of its thrill, but with that a little of the fear and trepidation involved.

Now that I am (at least according my drivers license) an adult I have become much more secure in who I am so I don't really worry about it, but it took a few years of gradually dipping my feet more and more into the "pool". I started by wearing by myself on long solo road trips when I knew there was zero chance of being busted by anyone I knew. Then I started to wear in slightly more public, but still low key places like the library or starbucks.

With every experience I grew bolder and more confident, but I also learned lessons on how to be discrete, and more importantly comfortable. Its no fun if you're crawling out of your skin the whole time. A few years ago I reached the point where I decided to wear while purchasing from the store, and that was and still is to some extent very thrilling.

I now wear fairly frequently, sometimes to work, quite often to relax by myself, and almost always if I'm going to be in a situation where it would be beneficial. I have a shy bladder and can't squeeze a drop if someone is standing there, so going out with friends to the bar has always been a problem. I want to go, and I want to have a drink or two, but if I do I know I'll have to pee and pee very badly, but won't be able to and that just hurts. Now I just show up wearing comfortable clothes and a thick abena and get a growler of whatever they have in season.

Its a long road from discovery of the interest to full on acceptance and comfort with it, but its a road worth traveling. Just be sure to do it at your own pace.

I wore in public today. I went hiking at a large and very busy national park and then changed, in a public restroom, into an Abena Super and fresh set of clothes for the ride home. I also stopped and got out of the car twice on the way out of town. I think I'd actually like to start wearing in public more. I wore a Dry 24/7 to the grocery store a couple weeks ago. Both times, not so much as a glance.

The last stats I heard were that there twenty million incontinent people in the US. I think that was dated though, so let's say 25-30 million (and climbing with the aging baby boomers). Surely we've all come into contact with some of these people, may be even talked to them. But I've never noticed anyone actually wearing in public.

So if you want to, wear in public. And if you're worried about strangers, don't be. That said, no way would I wear around people I actually know.

Band people have yall licked. We are extremely touchy (and always demanding hugs), especially the french horns. It's not odd to get your butt slapped by a fellow french horn, it's part of being in the group. It also helps our reputation of being crazy.

LOL @ band vs theater geeks. Anyways, I wore for 6 months solid and only now am I mixing between diapers and underwear mainly if I'm going to be working in hot weather and such. Certain situations I can't move quite as freely in a diaper (in cloth btw). Even still I try to be diapered at least 70% of the time however rinsing and soaking diapers does get old which is the only reason why I broke stride after 6 months. Had I stuck with disposables then I doubt I would have gone back to underwear, except the cost is a bit higher. The one thing I wish I was still in disposables for is changes are easier, more pants fit out of the closet, and I would prolly get out of the house more since I have yet to change a cloth diaper while I'm out.

I've worn to the movies and gone to 'net cafe's with friends wearing quite a few times when I've had diapers to spare (I've even worn Abena's with no underwear)

Trust me, no-one cares at all. It's awesome when you can spend around 7-8 hours overnight playing games at the internet cafe and not having to get up once.

Go for it!

It's a shame Internet Cafe's are a dying trend here in Cali :( I used to visit them all the time in middle school! It was also around the time I stumbled upon DPF.

I've been wearing diapers 24/7 ever since a diving accident 11 years ago (maybe it was 12 now? Egads, the time flies!) I like wearing heavily padded diapers in my off-time (Molicare Super Plus), but at work, I usually wear a much thinner product that is for the appropriate level of protection (the much thinner Molicare Supers).

No one's ever noticed. One co-worker knows because I forgot to zip up my backpack once and she saw three unused adult diapers in it. So I told her it's for mild/moderate incontinence (which is true. I just didn't tell her that I'm also a DL who likes really bulky diapers when I'm at home!) She didn't tell anyone.
