I use white duct tape for those times when my tabs won't stay on due to me accidentally getting diaper rash ointment on the outside of the brief (diaper) which happens from time to time. To give an idea of how infrequent this has been I've had the same roll of white duct tape for over 3 years now though it is almost empty and I just bought another roll. I have to wear every single time I *might possibly* fall asleep and more & more while awake as time marches onwards. I'll wear a minimum of 2 diapers/day when feeling as well as I'm going to (warm/hot & STABLE weather, pretty much late May through most of Sept here in NE Pa) and the past month has seen an average of 3.6/day although The Betterdry (usually with a booster pad) will be on for at least 10-12 hours (asleep) and as long as 20+++ (when in really rough condition, such as had been the case for 8 of the past 10 days) with lighter diapers when awake. My normal daytime diaper, which is my diaper of choice when I'm going anywhere outside the house is the Abena PE/plastic shelled L4 and they're outstanding for that need as they're more than discreet enough that no one will have any idea I'm wearing a diaper yet reliably consistent enough to give me the confidence (trust me, having confidence you won't want to crawl in a hole and die due to catastrophic leaks/wet pants in public makes a HUGE difference in me having a life Vs being a hermit) that I have nothing to worry about for at least 3.5-4 hours, usually much longer (4-6 hours).
Lately I've been working with the VA trying to get them to supply my needs but to date they have nothing on their formulary that will work for me overnight though they sent me a couple cases of the Tranquility "Smartcore" diapers that are great for around the house and/or quick runs going outside the house such as all day yesterday as I had 4 Dr appts @ the VA from 9:30 AM through 1:00 PM and then oral surgery (dental implants) @ 3:30. I also had to stop at the oral surgeon's office after the VA but well before my appointment to get refills on antibiotics and Diazepam as I used the last of my antibiotics in the days leading up to this surgery (I've been going through this nightmare for the past 14 months with at least another 4-6 months left thanks to a couple of infections) and I'm confident that I'm good for at least 2 hours with these. I used 4 of them throughout the day yesterday. They work well enough for these kind of needs although nowhere near well enough that I'm confident using them without having changes on hand or no more than 5-10 minutes away (my house, Tahoe etc) more than 2 hours. I also am NOT A FAN of cloth like/breathable diapers as they sag far too much when wet although these are vastly superior to the majority of cloth like diapers I'd ever tried to this point, which is a lot as I've needed to wear for over 19 years now.
WOW! As is my usual, I wound up writing a book when a short response likely would had sufficed. That's me I guess, and the big difference between those who literally LIVE on their cell phones and people like me who despise cell phones and do 90% of my communicating online using a full blown PC.
PS The reason I choose white duct tape is because I wear white diapers with PE/plastic outer shells. I'd be PARANOID if I ever wore a diaper with prints. My entire family & a couple dozen friends are well aware of my health issues including diapers and that's been a total non issue, contrary to how I thought it was going to be when I was still trying to hide the fact that I was peeing all over the place (unknowingly when asleep as well as uncontrollably) but I'm pretty convinced that IF I was to wear a printed or ABDL diaper that I'd get a lot of funny looks despite the fact that you'd have to look REALLY hard to know I'm wearing except for when I'm in bed or lying down as then it's plain as day what kind of "underwear" I'm wearing. I also believe that if I was to wear an ABDL diaper and wind up in the ER (not an uncommon event in my "beautiful" life) that Dr's & nurses would be far less likely to take me or my issues as seriously as I NEED them to. On top of all of that I've never been much of an AB in my life.
