So I was on eBay, looking for some old videogames. That's when I thought about other peoples' collections/hobbies - and decided to ask if anyone here collects anything.

I personally don't seriously collect anything but I do have a small (and likely to grow) collection of video-games. I have a whollle bunch of games from different generations and consoles. I do it because I am a pretty serious gamer - and older games actually hold nostalgic value for me.

What about you? Anything you collect, and why?

I collect cars mostly one at a time, but now I have 3, and if I had someplace to put them inside I would have more, If I had room for 10 I would have 11.

Since I started driving I'v had about 300 cars, and loved almost all of them, sold them and bought another, and so on.

I collect - *shock* - music CDs. Yes, I still buy them... I buy whole discographies of artists I love.

Other than that, I've started a synthesiser collection, or rather, at least it appears to be headed that way.

I have a bunch of different collections. Guns(Currently have four and it will grow eventually), coins, rocks, DVDs, music CDs(I'm the same as Lukie, I collect whole discographies of my favorites artists). I also collect license plates from the different countries and states that I have been to.

Engines and motors of course! Glass insulators, matchbooks, Pyrex coffeepots, Porn and memories too. I have about 20 computers…

When pokemon was still cool I collected pokemon cards -.- I still have about like 100 and im nto exagerating XD

I collected yu-gi-oh cards after that, probably have like 30 left...

Thats pretty much it for collections, i used to collect rocks for like a year ot some pretty good ones too.

I collect vintage bikes, trikes, other pedal toys, along with strollers and prams. All the trikes and pedal toys are from the pre-plastic age. My oldest collectables date to the mid-1930s, though I have one old baby buggy which appears to date back around 1915 to 1920. My wife actually had me buy that one because she thought it was interesting in design.

The bikes, although old, are still quite rideable with everything including brakes working just as if they were new. The trikes and other metal pedal toys are enjoyable to have as collectables, and enjoyable for my KidAdult side to play on and ride around. Being all metal, adult weight doesn't hurt them at all. I enjoy finding restoration parts for them on ebay and fixing them up to look nearly new again.

As far as collecting strollers and prams....well....what can I say? I'm Pramrider, afterall! :wink: The same holds true for them as for the trikes - enjoyable to collect and fix up, and to climb in and relax.:smile:

As for my collecting hobbies, I collect books -- I've got a library of over a thousand titles at the moment, and it's always expanding. I do my damndest to keep, keep, keep reading, but I always buy new books anyway. I could stop buying now and still have about two years' worth of reading material, but where would the fun be in that? I'm one of those people who will threaten your life if you return a book to me bent, worn, or otherwise damaged -- yes, I'm that guy!

I guess you could say I collect books as well. I have a pretty extensive collection and it is still growing. Not quite close to 1,000 yet. I probably have 250, plus or minus a few. Mostly, my collection revolves around non fiction. I really enjoy true crime and military history. I own the entire Harry Potter collection in hardcover and softcover, all 14 of the Stephanie Plum series(Written by Janet Evanovich) in softcover, a set of classics(White Fang, 1,000 Leagues Under the Sea, The Count of Monte Cristo, etc.). I also am one of the people that gets pissed if someone returned a book bent or missing pages or something. I loaned my hardcover copy of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban to a friend, and he returned it missing the dust cover. This was right when that title was released, and it still is missing the dust cover.

I sorta collect foreign coins. I have a few from Canada, some from the Phillipines, China, Brazil, Costa Rica.

They're pretty cool to have, I think.

That's pretty much the same as me! I completely forgot to mention that I collect coins. I have almost all state quarters (in both Delaware and Philadelphia mint), and a bunch of other random forms of money.

I WAS going to collect discographies. I had an entire Green Day collection for a while (it was the beginning of a growing collection I was going to start several years ago). Until it got stolen. That's about when the fun stopped - and I stopped.

It's tacky - it's made of plastic! Like cheap China-made toys! :tongueout:
As far as I'm aware, the $5 Aussie note is the only plastic banknote I have in my collection. All others are (still?) made of cotton. So yeah, I'm collecting coins & currency. Ever since we got the Euro, it has become easier but more boring to collect coins. Easier because I get foreign coins on a daily basis now in my change, but boring because they're all the same size, weight and only vary in the design of the reverse.

Other than that, I collect bus/train/subway maps of places I've been to, books related to public transit, plushies, credit card bills (for documentation purposes) and people's underwear... no, wait...who said that? Eww! I don't collect underwear!

Uhh, hm, collections.. I'd like to say I collect comics. =D Comics that interest me? Mostly indie and manga. American super hero comics are so complex, I wouldn't know where to start with them, as much as I'd love to get more into them. But I still have a big box of old marvel and DC comics that are probably worth something, hopefully. XD

When I was younger I collected Pokémon cards.

Anyway, now I collect keyrings! Whenever I go on holiday, or somewhere fun, I tend to buy a keyring. I have loads, maybe a hundred.

I forgot that I have a huge collection of foreign banknotes. My goal is to collect one banknote from every country. So far, I think I'm about half way there. I also have every statehood quarter from the Denver, Philadelphia, and San Francisco(The SF Mint only makes proof sets) mints. I also have a few star notes(Those notes have a star as the last character of the seriel number and are printed when there was a mistake made), a few two dollar bills, a five dollar gold piece, and some Morgan dollars(I keep meaning to complete that collection). I probably have some that I missed as well.
