What do think the best song ever is, I could have made this a poll but there are just too many possibilities. So what song (and why if you want). For me it has to be Guru Josh Project - Infinity, why? because it is such a good song, and sounds brilliant on my new speakers, not mention the bass on our surround sound system (450W subwoofer :D)

There is no correct answer here. So what is my best song ever? It's got to be "Rocket Man" by Elton John, and the reason is because I know and love rocket man. When my newspaper boy friend turned 17 or 18, abouts, he bought a big motorcycle. He called himself rocketman, and he and I would go out riding. I would hold on to him and he would blast through beach traffic at 60 MPH. We were young and thought we could live for ever, even be young for ever. Yeah, I'm rocket man.....

Whenever I think of "Rocket Man", the William Shatner version always pops into my head. I just can't help it.

My favorite song is probably Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes". The thing is, I've loved it since the first time I heard it when it was released in 1985. My brother was a huge Genesis fan and picked So up the day it was released. I remember my friends thought I was nuts when I said how great the song was. The funny thing is, it has only gained in popularity as the years go by and it ended up as one of our prom theme songs in 1991.

As far as Best Song Ever goes (and not looking at what our favourite is), I'd have to say Stairway to Heaven, which is the most requested and played song of all time on Western Radios, and has sold the most sheet music ever.

Rolling Stone Mag chose Bob Dylan's Like a Rolling Stone as the #1 song of all time, and that's a pretty good one too.

How loud? can it do ~150dB (for about 20 seconds without blowing up lol, but it can still distort your voice when you speak :D)
I take it's like a pro system, setup sort of thing you've got.

Day in the Life by the Beatles is a great song; I would consider that one of the best.

Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody is pretty good too. : )

Nope, just 2 SR-prototype 15s and a Behringer EP2500, it may be a PA amp, but it sure does the trick for the bedroom.

Yup, certified TB/DL/BF Basshead to the bone.

and if your wondering about numbers, 143 flat @ 40hz.

these Prototype's (yes, I build woofers now) have managed to last off the wall outlet without damage.
SR Versus wall outlet = 4 hours, 27 minutes, and 36 seconds before dying (they start to smell after about 4 hours btw)

Yea, they can take a LOT of juice.
Precision Ecowind coils FTW.

YouTube - 21st Century Breakdown Lyrics (re-do)

21st Century Breakdown

Born into Nixon, I was raised in hell.
A welfare child where the teamsters dwell.
The last one born, the first one to run.
My dad was blind from the refinery sun.

My generation is zero.
I never made it as a working class hero.
21st century breakdown.
I once was lost but never was found.
I think I'm losing what's left of my mind
To the 20th century deadline.

I was made of poison and blood.
Condemnation is what I understood.
From Mexico to the Berlin wall.
Homeland security could kill us all.

My generation is zero.
I never made it as a working class hero.
21st century breakdown.
I once was lost but never was found.
I think I'm losing what's left of my mind
To the 20th century deadline.

We are the cries of the class of thirteen.
Born in the era of humility.
We are the desperate and in the decline.
Raised by the bastards of 1969.

My name is Samuel, the long lost son.
Born on the 4th of July.
Raising the bygones of heroes and cons.
Left me for dead or alive.
There is the war that's inside my head
That questions the results and lies.
While breaking my back til I'm damn near well dead.
When enough ain't enough to survive.

I am a nation, a worker, a pawn.
My debt to the status quo.
The scars on my hands are a means to an end.
It's all that I have to show.

I'm taking a loan on my sanity.
For the redemption of my soul.
Well I am exempt from this tragedy and the 21st century fall.

Praise, Liberty
The freedom to obey
It's a song that strangles me
Well, don't cross the line

Oh dream, American dream.
I can't leave and see from rainstorms 'til dawn.
Oh bleed, America bleed.
Believe what you read from heroes and cons.

Seriously? That's hardly Bach's best work. Try his cello concertos out!

I don't have a favorite song ever, but right now my favorite album is Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence by Dream Theater.

John Lennon - Imagine

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

There are SO many great songs...

The one that came to mind when I read the question was. Patti Smith's "Because the Night". Her "Free Money" kicks ass too. Hell she's done a lot of great stuff.

So much great music out there... Rosebud Disco Balls any one?

Depends on mood, of course, but some of the more notable ones for me are:
  • Walking on Sunshine - Katrina and the Waves
  • Stuck in the Middle With You - Steelers Wheel (I think), or the later version
  • The '59 Sound - The Gaslight Anthem
  • Etc. (early demo) - Dramarama
  • Thunderkiss '65 - White Zombie
  • Guilty - Gravity Kills
  • I, Robot - The Alan Parsons Project
  • Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes - Paul Simon
  • Atomic Candy - Happyhead
  • Goodbye, '70s - Yazoo
  • Life is a Lemon (and I Want My Money Back) - Meatloaf
  • Stuck in the Closet with Vanna White - Weird Al Yankovic

These are always able to make me at last nod my head or tap my feet. :worshippy:

Tough choice. I always find it easier to answer when it's broken down into categories. Still, I guess my vote goes to AHBA by Garth Brooks. There are other greats, like Check Yes or No, or Kryptonite or Rocketman like listed above. There are so many songs to choose from, but my loyalty lies with a country song.
