I LOVE being 18! But with age ALWAYS comes with pros and cons. What're yours?

Pros:

More trust

Being able to stay out a little later

Not being nagged so much

Being treated as an adult

Cons:

more responsibility

Being seen as your "old" enough to do things like, homework and clothes on your own.

Your childhood is no long existant (sp?)

(can't think of anything else)

You pretty much nailed the pros and cons of turning 18. The pros outweighs the cons by a lot though. Being a whopping 21 years, I can say that's the way it keeps going with every new year. Who needs another childhood anyway when you can be an independent adult? Being one isn't necessarily boring. It's what you make it.

What is this about being 18. I do all that shit now.
I've done hard labor.
Electric work (need to do some for my room too.)
Plumbing(Ugh)
roofing(I fell off my brother fell through XD)
Lawn maintenance(Mowing, weedin, poisoning.)
Animal care(Feeding, bathing, walking ect.)
Animal vaccination. (Shit I can not wait to do this again.)
Landscaping(2 ponds built 3 fences ect.)
Tree removal(I can texas chain masa you baby! D:)
Hell being 10 sucks. Glad I never had to do any of it every day though.

Pro's: 40hr weeks, better pay, more job oportunities, car, Bank account, ability to own "toys", ability to smoke, ect.

Con's fucking work man. Hell.

as far as i was concerned the biggest con of being 18 was being expected to move away from home and go to college, which i really didn't want to do. that was a pretty shitty year.

so far being 26 doesn't seem to have a single con. it's pretty much the perfect age, as far as i'm concerned. old enough to have figured out a lot of my shit and learned to enjoy life, but not old enough that i have to be worrying about 30. ;)

Nothing really changed for me when I hit 18, except that I had the choice to go to bars and clubs with my friends instead of having to go home and miss out.

IIRC, I went to university and work on the day of my 18th birthday - pretty much just another day for me. Word somehow got out at work that I was 18, so my manager at the time took me to a bar (during our shifts!) and bought me a beer. :p

Being 18 is no different than being 17, or 16, or 15 for that matter. I have the same (lack of) curfew, responsibilities, etc... I am legally considered an adult, so I can look at porn legally, thats it.

Agreed.
The number one benifit for me, on the other hand, would be being able to buy cigarettes legally
The worst Con I can think of is the fact that my parents are pretty much kicking me out when I turn 18; I need to find some sort of job to save up money when I turn 16. Man, thinking ahead kinda scares me...*shudder*

Well the big advantage here is that you can learn to drive a car (and when you can you can join in the gridlock X_X)

Your cons don't seem any different from how my life has been since i've been in high school. Only thing I don't like about being 18 is I have to register for Selective Service.

I've always been independent so turning 18 won't really change me psychologically. I already go to a community college, plus do high-school stuff. Believe me, I have felt the academic pressure. My weekends are either spent at my grandparents place or at home. In either case, I work for an allowance. Its not much fun, but I do have money to spend. Once I master Photoshop I can start selling shirt designs on Cafe' Press. Some of my ideas have recieved positive feedback.

I don't think its much different from being 16 or 17, honestly.

Never had much of a childhood, and ya, i do all those things already.

But i'll be 18 at the end of the month. Looking forward to buying me some dirty magazines and lotto tickets, then renting a room at a seedy motel.
