I really enjoyed the finale, except for the coda, which just felt redundant and a bit heavy-handed. But otherwise, I thought it was one of the better series finales I've seen - not quite up there with Angel or Six Feet Under, but still very good. I loved the moment near the end where Baltar breaks down for a second, saying he knows about farming... A simple little moment, but very effective. I also liked how the opera house dream finally ended up being used, and the fact that they made peace with the Cylons, for about five minutes.
I still like the first episode of the second half of the last season (that sounds really complicated, but I'm talking about Sometimes A Great Notion...) better, and part of me almost wishes it had ended up being the series finale, as it was designed to be if the writer's strike caused the show to be shut down permanently, if only because I like bleak, depressing endings. But then, the rest of this season was already pretty bleak, so it was nice to have a happier ending.
