OK,

I am a DIE-HARD Cleveland Cavaliers fan. I've been trying to for the past few days go to a website, Cleveland Cavaliers History for more stuff on my favorite team and I keep getting a blocked page message from Google.

This is REALLY starting to piss me off. I went to that site NUMEROUS times, I've got a top of the line anti-virus, and a special program on my computer from a friend in DC that helps me be more secure, but this takes the fuckin' cake. WHY is it blocked?!? Attack site my ass.

I just want to be able to visit the site again and enjoy my Cavaliers more and more as we kick the Eastern Conference's ass. Obviously some damn LA Laker fan has to be behind this one. At least that's what me and a few friends think. Screw the Lakers

Use Internet Explorer. Its a Firefox glitch. The page loaded fine with IE7.
I use Firefox because of 'glitches' like this. This site has a virus on it. It is dangerous, and firefox protects me from this danger. Why use a less secure browser just to view a webpage with a known malicious program on there? It makes no sense.

If you really want to look at it I am sure you could use IE or find some other way of looking at it, but it isn't really that sensible. Basically if you do, and something bad happens because of a virus being downloaded onto your computer and messing it up, don't come crying to me. It really isn't sensible.

It seems that this could be the result of DNS poisoning or some kind of redirect of some sort. Attackers can do this by copying a good site, then hacking it by injecting redirect commands in the system, therefore causing the legitimate site to redirect it's traffic to the fake site. A simple tracert revealed this:
C:\Documents and Settings\Stick>tracert Cleveland Cavaliers History

Tracing route to cavshistory.com [216.193.201.58]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

Strange, why does this redirect all the way to LA if it's an east coast site? Ah, some businesses are just stupid. As you can see, hops beyond 22 all timeout. Whats worse is that because of this, I cannot accurately say how many hops it took. Obviously, something is up. I suggest you contact the owner for more information and that his site is smelling fishy.

Not really on topic, but...

I just want to be able to visit the site again and enjoy my Cavaliers more and more as we kick the Eastern Conference's ass. Obviously some damn LA Laker fan has to be behind this one. At least that's what me and a few friends think. Screw the Lakers

WildThing121675
I think Kobe and Pau were behind it. ;)

Why do you care anyway? With Orlando and Boston barely defending their homecourts, the Cavs should blast anyone they play other than the Lakers.

Unless, of course, they let teams like Detroit creep closer to them like they did last night. Didn't the Pistons make like, a 27-4 run or something?

Anyway...sorry to go off topic, I just like talking about the NBA playoffs this year. ;)

I was just very annoyed by that stupid block.

I still am. I don't understand it, cause that site worked a few weeks ago for me, and now it won't. I don't want to risk using IE7 because of the off-chance a virus IS indeed there. I don't want to lose everything I have again.

Eh well, I still stand behind my theory. A Laker fan has to be behind it. lol.

You are being blocked because the site has been compromised either directly or indirectly. I suppose you could bypass the protection and have a breach of your system but that seems rather foolish.

Google Safe Browsing diagnostic page for cavshistory.com

You might also email crunch, admin, or administrator (at) cavhistory.com and alert them to the above URL so they can clean house.

Yeah, and I am not willing to risk that even with the software I have on here. I'm not stupid. I was just surprised because it was a legit site with stats, historical records, video footage from the 2007 finals, history of the team's uniforms, logos, etc and arenas.

I figure it this way, I am not chancing an alien object on this computer. It is clearly to me, not worth it. But thanks all for helping me understand this more.

I do appreciate it. I still think a Laker fan did it. LOL. Sorry, I CANNOT resist that. :D

Attacks like this typically only hit a site once, at least. After that they fix their security.

I hope so, cause they had a lot of good shit on that site from my favorite NBA team. So shoot me, K? I'm a Cavs fan, from the days of World B. Free, and the dark days of the early 80s.

I grew up on the Cleveland Cavaliers, and to let people know, I am no fuckin' bandwagon fan. I'm a DIE-HARD fan. I used to watch them on WUAB 43 when they sucked balls after moving to Gund Arena, now the Q in the 90s. I am a true fan.

If you really want to view the site, download Ubuntu, burn it to a CD, and boot off the CD. YOu can view the website and you won't get infected.

Use Internet Explorer. Its a Firefox glitch. The page loaded fine with IE7.
It is not a Firefox glitch. It is Firefox doing exactly what makes it a better browser than IE. ;)
