I never read any of this guys stuff. I do not even think I have heard of him before...I don't maybe I have. :squint: Regardless it is sad to see a well contributing member to society pass away!

Rest In Peace Arthur Clarke!

2010 a space odyssey?
dear lord what are they teaching children these days.
2010 is much more important then Tale of two cities

He wrote that. "hits self in the head with a toy hammer" How could I forget that I saw the 2001 and 2010 Space Odysseys.

What is important in writing is left up to a reader to decide; both of those stories, Drew, hold specific importances -- symbolically and allegorically -- to entirely different things.

Literature would not be complete without Clarke or Dickens.

I feel so weird about this because I was thinking about his age a few weeks ago. I was afraid that he could die soon.... and it happened. I was hoping it was some kind of hoax at first. :(

Rest in peace

While I was always a bigger fan of Asimov than Clarke, I have read a few of his books (and saw him on tv a few times).

He lived a long a productive life...90 years is more than many of us can hope for...and contributed much to society!

So I say..."Well done! Mr Clarke"
