What I don't get is why anyone even mentioning abdl would be banned. I though they were only removing sexually explicit material from twitter. I mean, you'd think a company as socially up to date like twitter would know the difference between abdl and sexually based fetishes.
I honestly never liked Tumblr. It had a format that annoyed me.
So I feel utterly unaffected. I think I'd feel the same "Meh." If suddenly Facebook said it was closing down.
The good news is that in my experience, ten more small sites will pop up and go "HERE! COME HERE!" And then ten years down the road the most popular of those will bar some sort of content and a new generation of replacements will grow.
Looks like a few alternatives are being rolled out quickly - abdl.link has popped up on a few feeds, also bdsmlr and cumblr (ha ha!), pillowfort keeps being mentioned, as well as some serious sounding work going on by dominantlife (https://dominantlife.tumblr.com/post/180967351730/tumblreplacement-day-6) into an as-yet-nameless project to more broadly replicate tumblr not just the NSFW bits.
I'm waiting to see where everything lands once the dust settles as I can't be arsed signing up for accounts on every emerging platform just in case.
