I want to see if I can make use of CottonTail's fantastic guide on making diaper take extenders (http://www.adisc.org/forum/showthread.php/83319-How-To-Make-Diaper-Extenders?p=1271020#post1271020) but figured I might as well start with the stretchiest baby nappy.

I've narrowed it down to the three nappies I think will be best but wondered if I could have your input on them or suggestions to ones which are even better?

Option 1) http://m.groceries.asda.com/#item/910001908697 Pampers Baby Dry Size 6+ ~ Good weight recommendation, but not designed to stretch that much by the sounds of things

Option 2) http://m.groceries.asda.com/#item/910001458047 Pampers Active Fit Size 6 ~ Weight recommendation less than Baby Dry but designed to stretch with movement

Option 3) http://m.groceries.asda.com/#item/910001084642 Asda Little Angels Comfort Dry Size 6+ ~ weight recommendation 4kg more than Baby Dry but unknown brand in comparison

Hmm, can throw in a quick comment here.
The Asda Little angels are long but less stretchy than even huggies wrt tapes and waist fitment.
(less stretch than both Pampers 6)

Currently have a pack of both the BD6+ and AF6, will do some estimates and report back.

K, have done some measuring and can confirm the Baby Dry 6+ is definitely larger and stretchier than the Active Fit 6.

These were fairly 'rough' measurements stretched on the ground to similar points of deformation;

NS / L / W/ TLZ / ST
6 / 56 / x / 28 / 72
6+/ 57 / x/ 31 / 78

(all measurements in cm - NSize / Length / Width / Tape landing zone, though measured from tab to tab. / Stretched Tapes)
I also should point out that the 6+ BD has a wider tape, possibly allowing it to stretch that much more.

Therefore my vote for stretchiest in the UK definitely goes to BD 6+

I should hopefully I'll have a chance to get my hands on some Cruisers 7 and will repeat the measurements.
Hope this is of some help.

Thank you for the comprehensive details, I really appreciate your help.

Sounds like Baby Dry are by far the best baby nappy for DL's, at least of those which are available in supermarkets. I'm going to buy a carry case of them tomorrow
