Thread: Leveling Up on ADISC

    Default Leveling Up on ADISC

ADISC has a unique "leveling up" system.

    Basically:
    • The more you participate in ADISC, the higher the level you can earn.
    • The higher the level you earn, the more benefits you get.

New members see a box at the top of the homepage which gives them tips about how to level up.
If you would like help leveing up, check that box first. If you are still confused about what you need to do, read on.

    The levels on ADISC are:

    1. Guests
      • A guest is someone who is not logged into ADISC.
      • Guests can read some of the site, but that is all they can do.
      • To get more access, they need to sign in, or join, using the buttons at the top right of any page.

    2. Unverified Member
      • An unverified member is someone who has signed up, but who has not completed the joining process by confirming their email address.
      • Someone with this status should check their email inbox for a verification email. If it does not appear, even after waiting 15 minutes and checking their spam folder, they can request another one using this link.

    3. New Member
      • New members are people who have signed up recently, and confirmed their email address, but who have never posted anything.
      • New members should introduce themselves, or otherwise post. ADISC is a friendly community, and they will be welcomed. Once they post, they should level up to Contributor automatically, within an hour.

    4. Contributor (C)
      • Contributors are members who have contributed to the site by posting at least once.
      • By continuing to participate in ADISC, they can level up further to Established Contributor.

    5. Established Contributor (EC)
      • Most regular visitors to ADISC are Established Contributors.
      • This is the normal level for ADISC members who have been around more than a week or two.
      • To become an EC, you need:
        • 20 posts
        • 0 or higher reputation (ie: don't let it get negative)
        • 7 days of membership
        • no rulebreaking within the last four months
        • account must be confirmed

      • After meeting the requirements, you will be automatically promoted within an hour.
      • Benefits include:
        • Access to the EC forum
        • Access to the live chat
        • The ability to send private messages
        • The ability to leave profile visitor messages
        • The ability to have a personal signature
        • The ability to see positive rep on posts and report it if it is invalid

    6. Distinguished Contributor (DC)
      • DCs are members who are widely known for their very high quality contributions to ADISC.
      • To become a DC, you need:
        • 50+ posts
        • 10+ rep
        • 10+ rep within the last 2 years
        • 90+ days of membership
        • 9 positive rep for every negative rep
        • no rulebreaking within the last year
        • account must not have been deactivated at any point within the last year

      • After meeting the requirements, you will be automatically promoted within 4 days.
      • Benefits:
        • Access to the DC forum
        • A personal title of your choice
        • Expanded abilities in the forums (more PM storage space, etc).

    7. Top Contributor (TC)
      • There are typically only ten to twenty TCs at a time, and they represent the best of ADISC.
      • Becoming a TC is very tough. It requires:
        • 100+ posts
        • 20+ rep
        • 10+ rep within the last year
        • 180+ days of membership
        • 19 positive rep for every negative rep
        • no rulebreaking within the last two years
        • account must not have been deactivated at any point within the last two years

      • After meeting the requirements, you will be automatically promoted within 4 days.
      • Being a TC does not grant extra abilities beyond those of DC, though people do tend to look up to TCs.
