Thread: Seem to have found a good fix for dodgy tena tapes

Default Seem to have found a good fix for dodgy tena tapes

Have been having alot of trouble with the bottom tapes snapping off on my tena slip maxi's

Doesn't seem to be so much of an issue on the supers so I think the cause is down to extra stress being put on the tapes after the swelling caused by wetting.

Decided I'd had enough of it and got the staple gun out, it would appear that adding a couple of staples to each of the bottom tape re-enforces them sufficiently to stop the problem.

I've added a couple of pictures to demonstrate.

Hope anyone experiencing similar problems finds my modification useful

As mentioned before (different thread) I've had bad patches of tenas before (although not in the last few years).
    ...

My solution though: calling up the manufacturer and letting them know that it sucks... usually they'll happily replace the products and try to find the error.

I've doing this to store brand "cloth-like" diapers since they came out many years back. It seams the tabs just can not stick to that stuff.

packing tape works fine for reenforcing tapes but without the side effect of scratching yourself or worse.

I've been in tena nappies for ages and never really had problems with the tapes, I think tena are the best, for me anyway.

I keep a roll of duct tape in the diaper cabinet. I tear off a strip 6-8" long, and then tear the strip down the middle to make two 1" wide 8" long strips, and hang them in the cabinet so I have them easily on hand if I need to reinforce a tape. 8" easily overlaps the entire tab and root of the tape, and extends a few inches on each end to insure it doesn't pop the tab or pull the root off.

Generally only necessary when I'm taping a diaper on extra tight, which I do on occasion.

I've never had any issues with the tapes and believe me I put the tena maxi through its paces each time! I would however like bigger tapes as I think they look better and you can't be too secure
