Thread: How much of the community is LGBT?

Default How much of the community is LGBT?

Just a question since there is no board related to this.(There really should be)
From my experiences it seems a lot of the ABDL community is gay(once again, from my experience), and i, myself am Transgender. Hopefully this doesn't start some lame conservative v. Liberals argument.

I think a lot of the community is straight men, but there do seem to be a lot of gays and trans. Why don't you make a poll about it?

a poll will probably end up being un-represenatitive as LGBT people will be more motivated to vote in such a poll... I would have thought the ADISC database would be able to count the numbers of people tagging themselves as Male/Female and the various orientation options, perhaps if it's not too much trouble one of the mods could tell us the numbers? It wouldn't give valid data for the ABDL population as a whole, but would be interesting just to learn about the ADISC community on it's own.

Ok, will all the pretty rainbow people please stand up..... (smile)

Ops... i almost forgot. all the transgender folks get to stand-up twice for presumably being two-spirited.... lol

I'm bi in who I'm attracted to. When I think about my gender, I find a desire to be both male and female, with no definition, kind of a spectrum.

update, more accurate: I'm not attracted to a gender of person, but if i do feel attracted, it has always been to someone who is very fat, man or woman. After I wrote the original post, I read some about asexuality, which I think may describe me. Even in my 50s, I'm not sure.

Whatever I am or feel like, I am helped by how accepted I am here.

Polls we've had on ADISC have consistently shown that members are overwhelmingly straight, but that there are also higher proportions of all other orientations than there are in the general population.

Polls are flawed due to selection bias, depending on the wording of the thread you nearly always have a higher proportion of one category than the other answering - so your results are screwed.

Polls from other places, I think 'Understanding Infantilism' has attempted to cover it, tend to show the majority of ABDLs are straight white males. I would suspect the proportion of LBGT people in the ABDL community is roughly similar to the population as a whole. The reason for the apparent increased prevalence is because more people on the internet are gay. After all, it's fairly easy to be 'out' on an anonymous online forum where the shared interest is an activity probably considered by a lot of people to be weirder than being gay.

We also seem to have more asexuals on here, though to be honest they are probably even more unknown in the general population than LGBT people. Nearly everyone knows what gay means - you say asexual and they look confused.

Fruitkitty is right in that we've had a number of threads with polls. Though straights outnumber gay members, it becomes a lot closer if one adds bi to gay. Then it almost splits down the middle. As for me, I identify as bi. In college I lived an exclusively gay life, but I'm married with children and little rug rat grandchildren. If I look at diaper porn, I prefer guys to girls, so I lean toward gay. I never had any desire to live with a another man, however. I consider myself to be complicated and difficult...sigh. Just ask my wife. Yes, definitely....difficult!
