Thread: Kigurumi Question

    Default Kigurumi Question

    Hello,

Do Kigurumi like the ones that Spencers sell, the tighter-fitting ones with the zip-off feet, count as appropriate wear at furry conventions. With shoes or without? And if without, footies or none?

Thanks. Still getting the hang of some of this stuff.

I have seen plenty of people wear kigurumis at conventions, as well as them being sold in the dealers area. Even seen a couple in the fursuit parades, but I would avoid wearing it in the fursuit parade as that makes some furries very angry.

But other than that there is no issue with wearing one at a convention.

Yeah, I overheard some people talking at RMFC. They say because it is not an actual fursuit, since it does not have fur. I honestly think they are more upset over the fact they spend $1000 and up and a kigurumi only costs about $50-$100.

One of the footed pajama companies does a mouse one. Just Google it. Name escapes me and I'm in a hurry. God luck.

I know its from jumpinjammers but that's not the same as a Kigurumi

I certainly wouldn't see any problem with them at a furry con. They're also commonplace at anime conventions (more so, in fact).

One thing I would say though - if you're considering wearing padding underneath one, be careful to gauge the situation first. Though they're baggy enough for folk not to notice for the most part, being clocked as wearing may not go down well.
