    Default Music software

I found this instrument at goodwill and wanted to know if anyone could help me. I wanted to know what software would work best for this on windows 7 PRO 64bit. Its USB and MIDI and powers up so it should work just fine. I got it for $6.99 ^__^

It depends, what do you want to do with it? There are all kinds of software from free to expensive. You are looking for any MIDI software or MIDI synthesizer SW. There is free stuff to create drum beats, there is music creator software like cakewalk etc. There is a ton available.

I use a Mac for all my MIDI stuff, but download some free trial of what looks interesting. Otherwise I am sure someone else will jump in with good specific recommendations.

I want to be able to play audio samples like drums or any sound file I program it to play.

i'v seen people use the square trigger sort of stuff with Ableton. Live is only about 100 I think, so if you're on a budget, it's pretty good. You could also try mapping it to dj software (try mixx, it's free) if you're into that.

A google search brings up lots, I'm not as familiar with Windows, but Ableton and Mixx are cross-platform, so I know them.

There's also Pro Tools, Cubase, Reason, Sonar, and some other stuff. Look for what features you think you'll need. If you don't know what a feature is or how it will benefit you, you don't need it.

    Good Luck,

The Manual will tell you what all the buttons do here:

This is the Software that comes with the unit here:
M-AUDIO - Download Free Version of Enigma 1.0

I use a mac for my synth stuff, but I will ask some fiends what they recommend for windows.
