    Default Old newbie

I'm a 62 year old AB/DL from Maryland, near DC. I've been interested in diapers since I was six years old and have never lost interest. I first learned I was not unique when I was 35, quite different from today's teen babies. I was a member of DPF and Compu$erve, HSX-207, Adult Babies section (I was also the last Section Leader there.)

I'm straight but single as I've not been able to find Mrs. Right. I almost did once, but when I told her about my small side she dropped me like Homer Simpson dropping a radioactive bar.

I'm a retired Federal employee and consultant. (I'd tell you what I did but then I'd have to send in the black helicopters.). Now I spend my time playing with my iPad, watching bad movies on the SYFY Channel, reading, and going to the gym to change my oval shape!

Hope to hear from other members soon!

Welcome to the board and great intro. I've been thinking of starting a group called the Pre-Internet AB/DL's. For my part, the Internet was still around in the forms you mentioned, but I never had access to it until my middle school years.

I am 36 so I know how it feels to be beyond teens years and still be interested in diapers

So was I. I was around some of those earlier Ab/DL sites.

Well, I've only been married for just under 3 years. I told my wife all about my AB/DL side before we were ever engaged. Her support of that side of me can still be a touchy topic. I understand where you're coming from.

Sound cool! I'd like to someday hear about what you did and perhaps some stories.

    Great intro...

I found the internet in my late 20's, so the only way that I knew that I wasn't alone before that was with the occasional magazine article or letter in some adult publications. I'm not sure if those mentions in magazines was that helpful for my self-esteem though, as there was usually the suggestion that it was a little bit of a freak show... (Nb. I did find 'Wetset' magazine before the internet though, and that was a great find!)

The Internet changed all that. Once you found some sites and IRC channels you knew that there were lots of people just like you and they were relatively 'normal'!

Oh, I know that there are are other people out there. I almost married a wonderful lady but her mother talked her out of it because I wasn't Hispanic or Catholic and came from a different socioeconomic class than her. Years later Milly confessed that she wished she had followed her heart instead of her mom. She knew all about JJ, my little side, and was totally okay with it. But now having been single for so many decades I don't know that I want to change my ways (diapers yes, cuz they need changed). I like the bachelor lifestyle and enjoy the solitude it provides whilst reading on my iPad & listening to Smetena. But I do visit many of my AB friends on a regular basis, including this ToddlerDenny person.

    Kevkev,

Thanks to you & the others who complemented me on my intro. As for realizing that I was 'normal' I've always felt that was just a setting on my clothes dryer. I don't think that there is a person in the world that is truly normal because nobody is out there without some quirk or idiosyncrasy that somebody else wouldn't call weird. Just MHO. But I like that; normal people would probably be incredibly boring. Every one of my friends, AB or otherwise, have some weird aspect that gives them charm & uniqueness.

    Cherub,

Thanks for the welcome! After my various experiences with near-marriage I'm certain that if I do find a potential mate that I will tell her all about my AB side, plus my socialist leanings, before any attempt to get engaged. While you say that you've had some touchy situations with your wife, at least you didn't surprise her after the wedding.

As for the black helicopters, they'd show up to keep me from revealing secrets about my idiot last boss. I actually worked in HR in DoD for most of my career determining people's grade level.

Do you really have wings? Are you an X-Man?

    NateSean,

To put things into perspective, I was born in the first half of the last century! I was born in a black & white world. But I did jump into technology as quickly as I could (used to program in Fortran, COBOL, PL1, dbase, and HTML). I love the idea of 'Pre-Internet AB/DL's,' we could discuss animal skin diapers and how we walked barefoot to school six miles uphill each way through deep snow drifts in 105 degree temperatures!

    TD,

I remember you now, you're the guy (and best friend) that owes me two dinners at Morton's! Can't wait to see you again!

Hi John. What an awesome introduction! Sometimes I feel I was born several decades too late, at least with respect to music. I'm crazy for Big Band and Swing. It breaks my heart that I missed that era. On the other hand, with regard to the Internet, I was born way too early. I wish I had had this support group earlier in life so I would not have spent all those years feeling like I was the only one. Oh well...in a perfect world....

It's great to have you and other "elderly" in this forum. Gives us all some much needed perspective.

    MyWorld08,

Elderly, but a young 62! My HS band played a lot of that old music, stuff from Glen Miller, Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, & others, and I still enjoy swing music. I also wish the Internet had come a lot sooner, like when I was a teenager so I'd have learned about other AB's sooner. I remember Usenet and my favorite site, alt.tonya.harding.whack.whack.whack!
