Thread: IRC on an iPad?

  1. #1

    Default IRC on an iPad?

So computery people of adisc, I need your help. What's the best/easiest way to get the IRC to work? I've tried the connect now button but it doesn't let me see anything, and I tried IRC999 but I couldn't get it to work.

If you do recommend me an app then can you also tell me (as if you were explaining to a 5 year old) how to connect to our server?

    Thanks in advance

On iPhone or ipods, Colloquy is quite good. I'm not sure how it is on tablets however, but it might be worth a shot. It does cost 1.50 though.

Near wrote a guide for it: https://www.adisc.org/forum/content/...loquy-ios.html

Colloquy is iPad native and is absolutely brilliant.
Just to let you know, the menus are a little different to the iPhone version (Screenshots in above article). You should be able to work it out but if not I can take some screenshots with my dads iPad to show it.

You can, you just need to sign out of your mum's (if she is signed into her's), and sign into yours.

    Go Settings > Store

You may see a button that says Sign Out, or a button that says the apple ID (Like below.) If sign out, simply press it, if below, press and select Sign Out

Press Sign In and then Use Existing, and enter your account details.

do not do that on iOS 5 it'll associate the iPad with your iTunes account and cause a lot a headaches down the line.

However if you download the app o. The computer you can still put it on there without the association issue. You just have to authorize her copy of iTunes for your account before it will let you do it.

If you mean iCloud then it only associates on the first appleid provided on setup. I have done this many times on iOS 5 with no ill affects.
As long as you sign out afterwards all it does is authorise the phone to use applications or music assigned to your account.

Then you've had better luck than I have since both my iPod Touch and iPad are currently stuck being associated with my girlfriend's ID even though they were originally setup on iOS 5 with mine. :\

    Ouch
You tried checking mail? You can de-associate iCloud by deleting the mail account for that appleid.
