Thread: Diaper for bike riding

    Default Diaper for bike riding

So i have recently started riding my bicycle again, and i am wondering what type of diaper (or brand) would be best suited for bike riding. I don't plan on using the diapers but i would like it if it could take a wetting should the need arise. It should aslo be noted that i am overweight and when i normally ride my ass crack is displayed to the world.

That sounds like a bad idea. The diaper would shift back and forth a lot, and the pressure would make it prone to leaks. I would suggest something tight fitting, with a stuffer.

Not to mention how much it will rub against the insides of your legs/groin area. Might be a bit painful after a while..

If you aren't planning on using, you could save a lot of money by going with cloth. Between perspiration and agitation, a disposable might not last more than a few rides, used or not. However, for a given absorbency, cloth will be harder to conceal.

Plus cloth will add some padding. I've worn a cloth diaper several times when I go out on my bike.

i've found that wearing a diaper while riding a bike is almost always a bad idea. you wind up with a bicycle-seat-shaped dent imprinted on your heinie.

Been there done that, but the diaper did save the boys from a nasty thump on the bar when I hit a tree coming down a mountain, so a little leg chafe was worth it.

I think it depends on the distance and speed you're riding. I have a hybrid, and do long distances at 18-20mpg. a diaper simply wouldn't work. Honestly, if you want the feel of a diaper, consider getting padded bike shorts or underwear. They're designed for cycling.
