Default UK Academic Results Today (Thursday 18th August 2011)

Congratulations to all of those in the UK such as myself who have received the results they required for further progression today; I use the term 'results' as not everyone was studying towards A-Levels To those who didn't quite do so well, I would encourage you not to 'give up' and to explore your options, now. How did everybody do? :-)

Oh goodness, I remember how scary receiving exam results in. I was in Romania when I received my A-level results and so had to wait an extra few days until I got home to collect them, and the feeling of dread at having to open that envelope when I got back was huge. I got B, B, C, which was a bit of a disappointment as I was predicted A, B, B, but it was my own fault for not revising and socialising far too much in my last 6 months of college.

Good luck to everybody who receives their A-level (or AS level) results today.

I had only recently awoken and was in sleep-related pain, so perhaps my concentration was adrift; nevertheless, yes, I did. You are quite correct.

My course was an accelerated non-A Level course and as such doesn't use letter grades; in fact there is not an overall grade generated, just per unit results (five sheets of paper are involved as a consequence); the receiving institution is left to interpret them. Nevertheless, I understand your concerns; unfortunately my results were not as good as hoped, something which I attribute to illness and stress caused by the college not accomodating my disability very well, but still, I PASSED! The grades are sufficient for me to attend University. I apologise for the long paragraph, but nobody cares that I am seemingly unable to use line breaks or formatting.

The three subjects I needed were AAA, and I got A*A*A (with an extra A in an unneeded subject and also took the general studies exams cause our school makes us) so I'm really pleased !
I hope everyone else did well, and if you have to go through clearing, try to sort it as quickly as possible.

Believe me, your text is quite readable. It's not a particularly long paragraph, so I doubt anyone is going to complain about it. It's not hard to find writing here with no breaks at all and a complete lack of punctuation.
My view is, if I can understand it with ease, and it's not a wall of text - I don't care.

Fair enough, however, it does therefore require multiple short posts to provide more detailed responses when so required. :-/
