    Default HTML help

    long story short im in a computer programming class now with an instructor who is sort of un qualified to teach it(when it takes you 5 minutes to find the source of a page come on)

    so here my question when you are typing in color of text and finish the paragraph how do you change colors after ending the tags i start a new paragraph with a new color and it still prints in the old color any help would be greatly appreciated.

    to show what i mean
    this:
    Code:
    <html>
    <title>
    Cory's Practice Page
    </title>
    <body bgcolor=black text=red>
    Hey Adisc help me out
    </body>
    <p>
    <br>
    <body text=blue>
    Please!
    </body>

    </html>
    results in this:

    When "please!" should be blue but i can't seem to get it to change so please tell me what i am missing here.

    I suggest heading over to W3schools to learn the basics of HTML.

    The basic structure of a HTML document is
    Code:
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>Title of page</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    Your <b>page elements</b> <i>goes in here</i>
    </body>
    </html>
    You need to have one body tag, so replacing the body tags with font technically is still wrong. You should still add body tags "outside".

    You're welcome... Cory. :3

    By the way, if you ever want to add some interactive elements to your webpage, there's always JavaScript. Or if you want to make it more attractive but stick with basic HTML, you can always mess up with marquees and stuff.

    Simple...to look right you should do it like this...

    <html>
    <title>
    Cory's Practice Page
    </title>
    <body bgcolor=black>
    <font color=red>Hey Adisc help me out</font>
    <p>
    <br>
    <font color=blue>
    Please!,/font>
    </body>

    </html>

    I know you already got some answers, but I thought I'd post an alternate solution:

    HTML Code:
    <html>
      <head><title>Cory's Practice Pagee</title></head>
      <body style="background-color: black;">
        <p style="color: red;">Hey Adisc help me out</p>
        <p style="color: blue;">Please!</p>
      </body>
    </html>

    Actually, chevre's answer is the best. Shows up in all browsers, less errors.

    And Ayanna, you forgot quotation marks.
