I started a detox diet 5 days ago and am eating nothing but raw fruits and vegatables. I plan to do this until my next doctors appointment for bloodwork. My hope was to come off of the many medications I'm on for blood; pressure, sugar, and colesterol.

I've lost 10 pounds in five days and for some reason I'm cold at tempatures I would normally be warm or fine. These results have surprised me. Has anyone else done this and would you expect these results?

You probably feel cold because you're starving. The human body needs protein and fat in order to function, and dropping 2 lbs per day can't be healthy. o.o;

Just wanted to say something similar...

Your organism seems not to be getting enough energy. That's not right. You are, most certainly, not used to such diet as you probably started it abruptly, without preparation. I'd suggest that you drop it immediately and get a balanced diet or it might not end too well...
Also, for some reason, people don't take diets seriously and think that "it's only normal food, nothing can go wrong", but actually, you need a good specialist's advice before you start a diet. Doing so on your own may damage your system, you know...

I think that’s fabulous. Kinda like the juice diet but sensible.

Lots of peeps get flu like symptoms when on a big diet.

Unless you feel like you will collapse or be at risk it’s gotta be worth it to get off the medication.

When I got my blood pressure down and under control I went from always feeling fine or warm, to ways feeling cold even at room temperatures. Has your diet affected your blood pressure?

Also, the layer of fat under your skin helps regulage your body temperature. Loose enough of that thin layer of fat and you will likely feel colder. In not so sure loosing just 10 pounds would make a difference here though.

when I lost about 10 pounds to help my bp, felt more energetic though different in other ways with how my head felt.

Since you mentioned that you were taking medications to control blood sugar, have you been measuring your blood sugar levels ?
You weight loss might be because your sugar levels are staying way higher then it should be. (thirstier then usual, urge to urinate more often)
Also for people that have problems with sugar level problems, you diet should always include complex carbohydrates to keep sugar at steady levels.
Just be careful, your diet might be doing more harm then good.

I have and they have been good. It has come down in the past two weeks.

Since being found with Type II diabetes almost 2 years ago, I have gotten my blood sugars well under control with a well-balanced diet, exercise, and medicine. But I have noticed, too, that I am much more sensitive to the cold than I used to be. I can still handle cold temps, I just notice the cold more and have to dress more warmly than I used to.
