I’m getting really frustrated with all this. I know I have to wear diapers at all times. First off it’s really expensive and I can’t seem to get a head on diapers. It’s like I’m living case to case and only have 2-3 left when my next delivery arrives. This makes me constantly have to push each diaper to the maximum which causes stress that I just don’t need. I want to fully use each diaper but I can’t tell when they’re completely full. I’ve asked my wife to help Me but she is completely against helping at all. Other than hiding it from our kids which I appreciate very much. I’m having a lot of small leaks. Nothing major just wet spots on my pants and whatever I’m sitting on. This happens almost daily at some point. Diapers aren’t going away so I have to just deal with all this I know. Just wish it wasn’t so hard. It’s hard work being incontinent and I don’t people realize how much of a life altering thing it is.

I think you're worse off than I. I can wear pads during the day but there are urgent times when I leak uncontrollably. I thought it was supposed to get better since my surgery. Very frustrating making numerous trips to the bathroom during the day. As for running out, a couple of companies offer auto ship so that theoretically you never run out.

Can you try cloth? Then you only have to buy them once and wash them. If you can, I might suggest getting enough so that you can use what you need, and only have used them all up by the end of the week so the laundry isn't excessive. You could keep the used ones in a plastic trash bag to reduce the smell. I've found that a light dusting of babay powder over the dirty diapers will go a ways towards masking the odour as well.

Maybe you can tell us a bit more about the root cause of your IC. Did you check with your doctor the options?

Have your tried adding in a booster to really maximize how long each one will last? Even the cheapest size 1 baby diapers make great boosters. Just tear off the wings and loosely place it in your diaper. It will also absorb any floods and slowly leak over into your adult diaper, which helps minimize leaks.

Mikdl- I haven urinary incontinence without sensory awareness. I went through all the typical test with both my general doctors and urologist. They could not find anything medicaly weong other that my bladder is quite large and doesn’t always empty all the way. The urologist suggested a Cath three times per day to get out of diapers. He said cathing should empty my bladder and help me not have accidents. Well that didn’t work and ended up having accidents within 30 minutes after cathing. I cathed for over a month with no luck of staying dry. I never get the feeling of having a full bladder and never know when I’m gojng to pee. Sometimes I get a small amount of pressure build up but with in seconds I’m going. I did wear diapers before I lost control but not 24/7. I don’t know if the diaper wearing had any thing to do with where I’m at today. Ive realized there is no gojng back to underwear at this point. I’ve also started having bowel accidents.

Hi Ehorton,

If your bladder does not empty fuly there’s most likely a medical reason. As I understand you doc talk about ISC. This shoud normaly be done to save the kindneys because an urinary stasis can cause a live-threading condition. It will not nessesarily help you to stay dry.

Did you check with your doc if it’s OK to stop ISC in your case? I would hardly recomand to check with your doc again to find the root cause for your problem - and if that doc is not able take an other one. Of cause not every IC is curable - espcecialy if it’s caused e.g. by an spinal injury or other physical demages but a lot of things can be done to make it better. So my advice would be: Consult a specialist and make sure that stopping ISC is OK in your case because stopping this on your own can be realy dangerous.

Mikedl- I’ve asked my urologist is their is any risk moving forward in not cathing? We will see what he says. I went through all the testing and the only thing I was told was incontinence without sensory awareness. They mentioned neurogenic non-neurogenic bladder dysfunction at one point too.

Hi Ehorton,

good to her that from you :). Your mention that they are unsure if it's neurogenic or non-neurogenic. Did they make a CT or MRT to check for possible problems with your dorsal vertebra? I would guess that they all-ready checked for physical obstructions like prostate or bladder calculus or urea constrictions - if not this might be the first that should be checked. There are meanwhile a lot of methods that can help you also in case of a reflex or overflow incontinence.

I think the good news is that the underlying causes for incontinence in maybe 70% of the cases are curable. The bad news is - that the causes sometimes complicated to find- as well as a suitable treatment. More over the treatment itself often need a lot of patients compliance - it's not just to gulp some pills and it's gone. So don't be frustrated if the cure is not going on as fast as you would like. The important thing is to go ahead and not to stuck up in resignation.

I'm also a DL - how ever - at last for me things where not the same after I was affected by my IC. I did'd had that much fun from diapers anymore at that time. So I'm really happy that I'm back to a stage where I can control when I like do wet myself and when not...
It tokes round about 1,5 year for me, to come back to a point were I was not depended on pads and diapers anymore. In my case I was luckily because it was more or less clear what was happened and a lot of therapies exists for this kind of IC. An infection had affected my bladder wall what caused a sensoric urge incontinence, more over my bladder was shrieked over the time.

If you can get a script the i n c ,co,mite pay 80 too 100%of cost.and you need to ask fore BRAND.
