I see a lot of posts either about a self confessed Furry who hates Babyfurs, or from said Furry expressing their hatred, and I don't get it.

I mean I've always kinda thought Furries in general were weird (I've been called weird and these days I'd rather be recognized as "weird" than to be "Mr. SameAsEverybodyElse Normal"), but I do kind of like the art and I think unfounded hatred (especially with people you actually share something (that most people would probably see as weird) in common with).

I mean its beyond ridiculous, and I'm not saying they have to like the things they say they hate, but at least they could tolerate it or at the very least keep their hatred to themselves (lest people find out how crappy of a person they are and they repel anybody who could have otherwise became a friend to them).

I mean really, there is nothing to be gained with such hatred and lots of things to lose.

It always amazes me when one group of people who practice something completely outside the societal norm find fault with another outside group only because their "thing" is different from whatever they're practicing. I've seen it on this site and we all wear diapers!!!

No it's actually even worse considering this is a groups own sub-group that is being hated upon, and it both saddens me and dissapoints me.
For a comunity thats supposedly "open" towards a lot of things and branches out into MANY not so everyday interests, its ironicaly hard on itself or beter said it's own members more than anybody else

Exactly, the two are both kinds of Furries and therefore share a lot in common, for a regular Furry to hate a Babyfur is kinda like somebody who is Gay hating somebody who is Bisexual, it makes no sense and does nothing good for anybody.

They do it because a LOT of babyfurs get sexual art commissioned of their characters. In the furry community they see this as 'child porn'. It's not really, because it's a drawing, but it's cringeworthy enough to make them draw the connection.

So the "I hate babyfurs" usually stems from that.

Also a bunch of mouthbreathers who go to conventions and leave poopy diapers everywhere and make jackasses out of themselves. They don't get a lot of the 'normal' babyfurs hanging around because of that. And by 'normal' I mean ones who follow basic diaper etiquette like cleaning up and disposing of things in a respectful and discreet way, who don't go around a convention space going "MURRPURR! I"M POOPIN MY DIAPURR!" and can generally understand basic social cues.

Most of the babyfurs -are- good about it, but you get a handful that are idiots who taint the whole group. And some who are so legendarily creepy and cringey that they're known by everyone by name. XD Whenever something weird happens people are like "Goddammit, *insertname*" (There are two who are so bad you just name drop them and everyone, even the babyfurs/diaperfurs go "EWWW. OMG. NO.")

There is a lot of back and forth debate about whether the diaper-destruction stuff actually happened or was blown out of proportion, but whether it is actually true or not, people still believe it. And that's the part that matters. Me? I can't say for certain, but knowing how certain members of the group behave, I wouldn't put it past them. :p

Edit: And babyfurs DO go to cons and such, but let's be honest here, if we're following the normal 'rules of engagement', people will never know that we're wearing padding and thus wouldn't guess from appearances they were standing near a babyfur. ;) The only giveaways are folks who wear a paci or have babyfur art as their conbadge.

Cant they ban the bad apples so they cant go to cons if they are that bad?

Still, Furries don't wanna be called Animal Rapists, so they shouldn't say anything similarly bad to/about Babyfurs.

They (sounds kinda hypocritical since im one aswell o.o") demand not to be called that, but as allways if the majority doesn't even want to have much much asociation with that part of their own group... I sadly don't see a time when it would be just simply accepted if not atleast left alone and not be looked down upon.

... For now, we shall see what the future brings.

The future of Furries and Babyfurs could be better if the people Hating could at least make a move towards Tolerance, Sadly some of the Babyfur Hating Furries seem to be so stubborn they will not accept that things are not as they perceive them to be.

It's pretty ingrained in the fandom at large that babyfurs are the 'cringe' group. Yet nothing is ever said about people who want to get eaten, 'unbirthed', transformed (sometimes into inanimate objects), murdered, skinned and worn, blown up like a balloon, turned into a pool toy or anything else that might be considered by the public-at-large just a little 'odd'.

You can't -force- the furry fandom to do anything. There was a whole thing with the 'burned furs' and that turned into a fandom wide joke. The best way to accomplish being accepted is honestly for babyfurs to be GOOD. Unfortunately the most visible ones tend to be the same kinds of people that show up on other ABDL sites and go "Hurrdurr, I pooped in mah diaps!" when no one asked. So they're not the best ambassadors.

The decent babyfurs are there, just plugging away at being ourselves and not giving two poots what the 'fandom' thinks about it.

I've had my share of trolls bothering me and I ignored them. :p They eventually get bored if you don't react and give them what they want and they go away. I'm pretty unflappable in general. Even invited a troll to come have a conversation with me in a chat room many years back. He actually showed up, we talked about what he -thought- I was up to and what I -actually was- up to. He left me alone afterwards. (And I have a distinct suspicion that he actually became one of my early internet buddies. XD I got a random friend request from an actually cool dude right afterward.)

So the only real solution is to just ignore the 'haters' and do what you do. I do what I want. That's like...my motto for people hating on me.

The furry fandom isn't ALL hate and bile towards babyfurs though, we have our havens out there, they're just not that easy to find! (Unless...like...you actually know some decent babbyfuzzes and they point you to the right spots. LOL I'm kind of on hiatus for all of it at the moment. Just not feeling it.)

Unfortunately hatred and intolerance seem to be becoming the norm in today's political climate. 😿 And I don't we that changing any time soon.
I've also noted the same resentment within the LGBT community.
"Why are we even associating with the trannis they're nothing like us."
Or....
"Why can't the bisexuals just admit they're gay and stop pretending to like women?"

Fiftey years ago a science fiction author came up with a philosophy for one of his alien cultures. And even though it was totally made up... To my ten year old mind it made sense. And I've never forgotten it.
IDIC is Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combination.
Simple put. Non of us are alike. And its when we accept and use the differences that we become stronger.

So long as Trump continues to spew his intolerance from the White House... Hay! I've got an idea. Let's all agree not to tolerate Trmp's intolerance. 😻

The ones pushing intolerance isn’t the trump people. It’s every entity fighting uniting the country under a common ground.

Things like. Resist. Antifa black lives matter women’s march. Etc that pushes division keeps hate alive

Donald Trump and his followers aren't really a topic for this forum. This is babyfur/diaperfur, that goes in the mature topics. (Which, ironically, tend to bring out the most immature sides of people.)

So onto the subject at hand, the hate comes and goes in intensity. Sometimes it's really bad, with trolls purposefully tracking down babyfurs/diaperfurs and harassing them, and at other times no one even seems to pay much attention to them.

I used to have an account on FurAffinity, but I left when they sold out the site to IMVU and started showing ads encouraging everyone to 'meet single horny grannies in your area'. What. The. What. And FA dragged their feet about dealing with the ads and I said "I'm out. Peace." I haven't been back by there, so I can't speak for how intolerant people are over there. I do know there's a semi-popular babyfur artist getting attacked by people right now who are going so far as to say they'd 'cut her throat' because they believe the NHS is paying for her diapers. Usually it's the same noise, though, 'sick', 'pedo', 'pervert', 'animal raping sicko', etc. After a while it becomes static and you pay little attention to it.

That’s just human.... to dislike what is different.... those pushing are to close to see what someone else sees...

Eh. If you aren't into the furry fandom or a fur, you probably won't understand the depths of the drama that goes on in it. I've been in so long that I just glance over fights like "Eh. They're pissed off about someone using rainbow colored leopards again."

That is a real thing. Someone popularizes a species with a distinct feature and a thousand others 'copy' the idea. And the two people involved will have the fandom divide into groups to argue about who had what first. (And it's usually over something trivially stupid, like a color scheme or a hairdo. :p)

Also some furries don't even consider themselves human. ;) They're...a wild bunch out there.

Its the nature of groups that some people will want to create division and inequality, while others just "follow the flow of the stirrers" and just believe the gossip.

Drugs.

Geez, I never knew there was such vitriol towards babyfurs in the furry fandom and I've been casually involved in the fandom for around 20 years. I mean, I knew most furries think we're kinda weird but I've never seen anyone get super bent out of shape about it. I guess I've just been lucky avoiding drama lol

Reading through this thread did make me slightly concerned about a fur con I'll be going to next week though. I've never really gone to a fur con before in all the years I've been a furry (I did briefly stop in at one last year for a couple hours before getting sick and having to go home, but that probably doesn't count as "going to a fur con" since I didn't even attend any panels or events) so this year I decided to make a proper trip of it and commission a conbadge of my fursona to wear to the event. And of course my fursona is a young fur wearing a diaper, so now I'm a wee bit concerned that people might try to mess with me and give me a hard time over it.

Is that something I should be worried about or am I just being paranoid?

It comes mostly down to your own behavior. If you're being cool, you'll probably be fine. :3

I think I'm a very laid back and quiet person with a good sense of social etiquette so I definitely won't be doing anything that would offend anyone, and though I will be wearing padding under my clothing I plan to make sure it stays clean while I'm at the con outside of the privacy of my hotel room. I might smell a bit of baby powder but that's probably the worst I could do to offend anyone. :)
