I'm going to add to the "I want incontinence" thought. From vet early on I had always wanted to become diaper dependent, but never acted on it as a kid/teen. When I was 19 I got into a bad car wreck and became urge incontinent with a slowly worsening neurogenic blockage that wouldn't allow me to pee easily. And it sucked bad. Nobody wants incontinence problems like this, trust me.
Well, due to worsening complications from my incontinence issues I nearly died. During this time I had FOURTEEN surgeries in just three years- all for urology! The straining I had was horrible, and the folley catheters were too. So yeah, wanting incontinence is something everyone should consider with extreme caution, especially when your wish can turn out this badly.
This all said, the surgeries worked for me and I am now fully funtional urinary incontinent. I leak small amounts of pee very frequently and without and thought or warning. And I love it! Having this type of incontinence and being diaper dependent this way is what I had wanted all along. It's like I can finally feel comfortable with my own body, and this is how I should have always been. Yes it took some some life adjusting, but I am still able to live my life to the fullest.
My advice, like the OP, is do not force incontinence onto your body. If you truly still want to be funtionally incontinent then take it slow and steady. Start by simply wearing diapers 24/7 no matter what (aside from washing and swimming, and maybe pooping on the toilet). You're going to need to do this if you do succeed anyways, right. And I've seen plenty of people who were in a binge with this though, but after a month of wearing they realised incontinence really isn't for them and diaper costs were something they hadn't even considered.
If that doesn't phase you then keep peeing at the slightest urge. Eventually (months, years maybe) you will weaken the sphincter and develop functional incontinence. And as mentioned, re-potty-training is always an option. Just know it can be really difficult and even a bit painful trying to re-stretch the bladder and re-strengthen the sphincter. Many may find they don't have the will for that, making getting out of diapers nearly impossible. Again making their original wish for incontinence a bad one. So again, be extremely careful in considering pursuing incontinence.
