Thread: Can we help? Online Petition (not mine)

Exclamation Can we help? Online Petition (not mine)

I found this while wandering the internet, there is a petition and survey at this link:

    https://www.change.org/p/supermarket...eds/u/22564791

Anyone can sign the petition and we can submit anonymous responses to the survey.

Not only is this for a good cause, but in our own way we are 'informed consumers' moreso than the average person in the street.

Another post by the same mother that might be of interest to parts of our community:

Mods, if this is in the wrong section please move it.

I love this and everything to do with it.

It really is a major shame that IC/special needs children and teens are so underrepresented. And I would love to see more stuff made for them (and in extension, us lol. But that's just a side effect)

I signed it. :3 Hope it helps in some way.

Not just for us, but also for the kids who need it.

At least 3 and 4 year olds can still fit into a size 6 diaper or a 4t-5t training pant comfortably.

Except we're talking more along the lines of 8-13 year olds here. :3 There's honestly a gap there where truly IC youth have almost nothing good to use. Goodnites might fit, and work for bedwetters to a degree, but they'd probably not be quite absorbent enough for a truly IC tween. They shouldn't have to squeeze into something too small or try to tape down something way too big.

Exactly! And it's not like there's no potential market for such a thing either.

I'm not sure if ABU smalls would fit the gap, but I'm more than sure many would be turned off by the Adult Baby origins and the hefty price tags.

I'd love to see ABU or another premium diaper company step in and actually offer these people something that isn't awful.

I signed this petition a while ago because I do think that access to larger nappies for special needs children/incontinent children should be better provided for, what is pretty curious about this petition is that it is UK specific, i say that because whilst the NHS is the largest purchaser/supplier of incontinence products people still need to buy additional products because they don't get enough, not like the product their areas has or don't qualify.

Ok I'm writing this from a UK perspective but actually the youth/children's market is pretty well catered for :-

Tena do their Tena Slip Junior (https://www.tenadirect.co.uk/men-pro...a-slip-junior/) and their Libero range of Nappies and pull ups with the nappies up to Size 7 and pull ups with pull ups specifically for bed wetting too (https://www.tenadirect.co.uk/children-products/)

    Abena do their Abri-Form Junior XS2 (https://abenaonline.co.uk/collection...ium-junior-xs2)

iD do their iD Comfy range for children (https://www.id-direct.com/ukb2c/en/a...dren--151.html)

Wanting more stuff designed specifically for children/teens is going to always be oriented towards the sizing s of the products rather than the actual design on the outside because after all incontinence products are primarily designed to be functional and for some children/teens it is going to be embarrassing to still have to wear nappies/diapers. So I'm not sure seeing if seeing more stuff made for them would necessarily lead to more stuff being made for us as such.
