So I've been seeing a whole lot of people stating they are having (whatever) problems. And they want to know if they are becoming incontinent or should see a doctor. Let me just answer that for everyone and anyone else thinking the same question.

YES you need to go see a doctor. More specifically, a urologist. And yes, minor incontinence problems will likely get worse if left untreated.

Anecdotal guesses from us are not a diagnosis, and will not help you in the long term. The best we can offer is to use whatever protection or diapers you know you need- for now. At least until you and your doctor are able to figure out what's going on with your body. And don't worry about being embarrassed, they see this come up enough for it to be quite common.

I second those statements 100 %

And also those that want to be IC and dream about this glorious day i would strongly suggest THINK again as being IC is NOT something pleasant and if you have any kinks about getting to wear diapers 24 / 7 the novelty of this WILL fade out pretty fast when you DONT have any choice in the matter.

Also to those apparently seem to get a kick from playing IC in here and put in plees for help please refrain from this as it will risk the credibility of those actually having IC problems and asking for support (NOT referring to diaper lovers or Lil ones,Sissys etc... ) only the ones who falsely come in here and falsely portray as IC to get there kicks)

People should also be aware IC is more often a sign of something wrong in the body ,whereas most people think its a disease itself ,its not !

I agree that the IC forum should be kept to those who are IC or those who have questions about it. Not for the ones who say "Help I've peed myself five times in an hour". Its a matter of being respectful to the people who deal with incontinence.

Thanks for the extra input.

I personally had almost died because of my worsening urinary urge incontinence and blockages. Thankfully I believe that's been recently resolved and I'm now fully functionally urinary incontinent. With this all said I actuall DO enjoy being incontinent this way, and feel almost like a diaper is a natural extension of my body. None the less, I might as well be the poster child for the old say of be careful what you wish for. Being incontinent- in general- is a very serious matter that isn't to be taken lightly.

As a DL with an overactive bladder that wears diapers daily. IT IS NOT AS COOL AS IT SOUNDS.
There are days that I wish I did not have to wear. Though sometimes I very little time before I can get to the restroom before my bladder empties. Other times I get the warning and nothing.

could not agree more seeing a urologist is a must when you start to have issues and following up regularly with you doctor and and urologist.

If I hadn't gone to the Doctor's about my incontinence my diabetes would have gone un diagnosed causing more problems.

I might just have to get that for the next time we're going out of town. Even if it ends up just being a 'pit stop for changing'. It sounds much better than playing the "look out the window and hope for a gas station" game.

I can understand the motivations of the topic.
Sometimes you ask the motivations of the person or the lack of skill with the "search" function.

I try to keep up with "assuming good faith" unless it´s even too obvious for my perception...

It's part that, but also because they are SO many other recent and similar questions too. I'm all for helping answer questions like this, but all someone has to do is pay attention to the ones we have already JUST ANSWERED. And the answer is always the same.

That and the ones asking for advice on how to become incontinent needs to really be cracked down on as it almost feels like one guy dodging ip bans coming back and making the same posts over and over.

I have used it several times out of town where my driver is like damn I have to per bad ,I may not know how to get around town, but i can certainly pull a bathroom out of my tablet to help the para transit driver out .

The thing that is keeping me from seeing a Urologist is the $40 USD co-pay that I have to fork over for EACH visit. I'm pretty much slowing down on seeing specialists or even other doctors since only visits to my primary care physician have no co-pay.

Welcome to US health care...

I'll give the usual disclaimer about not being IC and being a DL - but I thought I'd chip in here.

Having a strong incidence of prostate cancer in my family and having had a few bladder and bowel issues too I'd strongly agree with unexplained bladder or bowel issues not being anything to panic about - but requiring visits to the doctor until some scans and a satisfactory explanation are provided :)

Annoying the IC folk with fantasies is bad obviously - but even pestering you with our health problems must be annoying - and ultimately pointless - as only a doctor can help.

It is easy to do the later when you are worried about something - and it is easier than doing the right thing and seeing the doctor.

It is the same with mental health issues - people keep coming back to the internet - when they need to reach out to get professional help.

Having said that, I have learnt a lot by searching this conference and generally by consulting Dr Internet - which has helped me understand things better - and know what to say to the doctor and cope with things like rashes etc. - but that needs to be followed up with a visit to a professional.

I don't mind when people are genuinely worried about their health. Even if all I can say is "Hey, it'll be OK. Just make an appointment at the doctor so they can get you squared away and relieve any of the serious fears you have."

I don't mind when people are just griping about having IC issues. IE: "I'm tired of chafing my butt all day." or "Why do plastic pants gotta break down so easy?"

I DO mind when the only thing the member wants to post is "I pooped eight times and sat in it for 12 hours and then got into the bathtub, pooped six more times and smooshed it all over the walls." That's just someone fantasizing...and in a way that honestly kind of scares me a bit. Who WANTS to poop fourteen times in a day? (I get it, people got their 'things', but...yeah. Not in a general forum area...keep it to PM with interested parties, a specialized group or even another site that caters to that kind of stuffs.)

No matter what if they are having a BM 14 times a day they don't need diapers they need a cork and a dietician.
