Has any one ever heard of this diagnosis? What exactly does it mean and it’s it curable? I’m currently cathing three times a day and was told that is more than likely going to need to happen long term. In addition to possibly needing diapers. Does this mean I’m inconitent?

No, it means you're incontinent

I have heard of “nonneurogenic neurogenic bladder.” Google it. You are incontinent if you leak urine accidentally. However, needing to cath doesn’t necessarily mean you’re incontinent. A common reason for needing to cath is that you cannot urinate any other way.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I do leak urine when I’m not trying. The amount varies though. I’m Able to urinate without cathing but I definitely leak way more often when I don’t cath. I’ve googled and done a ton of research. I really want to know if there is a cure and I can’t find that out. Accepting diapers is something that is hard to do and if I don’t have too then I would rather not now that I’ve been i them for 3 months straight. It’s not very fun.

Generaly neurogenic bladder means that because of other greater neurological disease in the body the exact cause of your bladder problem can't be nailed down , but its believed to be related to the other known neurological condition, however if you don't have a known comorbid neurological condition than it would be non neurogenic neurogenic bladder , either way it's SWAG
Scientific Wild Ass Guess, there are millions of people with IC who they have no idea why they are IC , they know alot about the body and how it works but that knowledge could fit in a thimball compared to what we dont know yet.

I have a neurogenic bladder and was told by the doctors I'm incontinent for life, I cath twice a day and still have to wear a nappy as I don't know when my bladder is full. According to the doctors I have a bladder capacity of 800ml+ they pulled the urodynamics test at 800ml so could be larger. So far suspect is early on set of MS but as my body suffers random attacks mostly on my left hip the doctors can't be sure. I'm mainly left in the dark with the whole thing but one thing I was assured of was nothing can be done, if I'm honest I wish they would just cut the sphincter in my bladder and leave it free flowing I hate cathing.

I’m right there with you. My dr hasn’t said I’m inconitent for life yet but did say Cathing was long term but had hope I can get of diapers. I’m not convinced of that though. I to cannot tell when my bladder is full. I never have that feeling of oh I need to use the restroom. I just start going with very little warning. I also experience lots of dribbling that I don’t feel. I too hate cathing. I would almost just rather leak all day. At least that way I can plan for changes and have more of a routine. Right now I have no clue what to expect each day. Some days I go through 3-5 diapers and other days it’s 2-3. I’m coming to grips with it but would love to know why. No one can seem to tell me that part. I go see a neurologist specialist in April and they hope that will shed some more light. That’s the most frustrating part. I just want to know why? As I’m sure you do too.

Sure do, I experience exactly the same problem as you don't feel it dribbling, they said the cathing should help but in personal experience I see no difference if I do or don't do it I still leak with no recollection of doing so. I keep getting lost in the NHS system so I can go months on end without seeing anyone, having great difficulty now as I can't get my cath in so will see how that pans out. Been about 4 years of it now

I’m only 3 months in so I can only imagine your frustration being 4 years in. You most be overseas as we don’t have NHS here in the states. I deal with private insurance. I have trouble getting the cath in from time to time. I haven’t had too many issues thankfully. It’s nice to talk to someone that is experiencing the same things as me. I feel so alone and like I’m the only one! Some day hopefully we will know why all this craziness is happening. Best of luck and I hope you get into your Dr. Soon.

Thanks think it will be sooner rather than later tbh I ended up with urosepsis last time I had trouble which wasn't fun. I felt very much alone when it started happening 4 yrs ago, it just started out the blue at night first and then crept into my days prior to that I used to be like a camel and could go without bathroom breaks for around 8 - 12 hrs so the doctors think that's where it all began and slowly my bladder began to loose grip and start spurting. Your right it's nice to find someone who is experiencing the same as I felt so alone there's plenty of things on stress and OAB but not much on neurogenic, I learnt to cope in the end and accept it, quicker that happens the better life is and as my wife always says it's not the worst that could happen.

This is crazy, I used to be able to go for ever too. My line of work sometimes didn’t always allow me to get restroom breaks often. I don’t experience a ton of leakage at night I don’t think. I always have a wet diaper by the time I fall asleep so it’s hard to say how much I leak but I have to change when I first get up other wise I’ll be in trouble and have wet pants. That’s the worse. My wife is excepting but does not like to see in diapers. She also struggles with the fear that I’ll wet the bed and she will wake up wet. I can’t blame her for that. I don’t want to her either.

It took my wife a while to come round it still gets to her every so often but she's usually there when I need her. Its difficult to see your husband wondering round in a nappy I suppose. I have to say I usually don't have many issues at night everything is contained just wear high absorbancey nappies and it should be good, I sleep on my side curled up and when I wake I'm usually soaked but the beds always dry.
