I shipped out a few days after my last log in and then;
with out access to Internet or cell service. Been back for a bit but, it
took me a about a while to remember my log in stuff.

Glad I'm back!
Nice to see new stuff on here as well as the brave new faces
.

Great to have you back. I like your avatar by the way. Does it have any interesting significance to you?

Hmm your profile says you are a “boat” Captain and you say you “shipped out” sounds kinda suspicious to this Port Agent....

Welcome back :)

It sounds more like he's just got a fancy title for taxi driver.

This got interesting..

Thanks for the warm welcome back!
Thanks for being respectful and such!
Yes my avatar is in reference to my inner furryism!
I also like big cats like panthers and lions!

When I sign on to a ship, I'm basically working
anywhere from 30,60,90+ days out on the water.
Away from land sometimes the ships have Internet and
some don't. The term *Shipped out* well normally a military
term, in the Mariner life it means you signed on to the ship.

Ships a sailor/mariner works on is like their JOB for that signed duration.
When your tenure is completed; your returned to a ships port of call closest to where you hopped on then you officially
*Ship off/Sign Off* There is also a better term that I should have used and will see about editing my post at once to add **SIGNED ON**
I think I see what confused you now.

Slomo: Update!
After connecting through PM; he explained it. I was a confused as I was,
not aware of a Naval(Military) term *Taxi Driver*. Glad It worked out, I kind of thought; it may be a misunderstanding. Glad the Mods let US work these misunderstandings out ourselves.

I was just joking with you Agent66, working on the water front I see a big difference between boats and ships but I do not in any way doubt you shipped out and of course we are happy you have shipped back!

Sounds like you lead an interesting life, Agent66. I used to watch the Doxy clam boats come in at a restaurant my parents and I used to eat at on the Jersey Shore. A life at sea is not an easy one.

The navy calls us Marines "jar heads" (because of our short flat top hair cuts), and "grunts" (an army term for mindless soldier). And we call the Navy glorified taxi drivers (because they take us where we want to go). It's all in good humor, and I made the mistake thinking Argent was military. Again, my appologies.
