Default Spekr.org: new political alignment test

I found a new political alignment test: Spekr.org and went ahead and took it. It judges based on social and economic issues and as such I wound up getting Libertarian Capitalist or one that is for light restrictions on both social and economics and against increased economic regulations and the abolition of the state.

Just posting it here so others can take the test and have a place to post their results.

    i dunno if i wanna =s

I dont really like putting a label on who i am politically. I prefer to hear both sides on issues and base my opinion around things on a case by case basis. I can agree with both sides on any 1 issue but to different degrees.

Those questions are kinda blunt, obvious in their intent, have an obvious bias.. some of them are also kind of contradictory, and above all that the test goes on _forever_. Reminds me of those career assessment quizzes they made us take at school.

And much like I did in school, I tried to stick to the extremes to see what I could get... took some monkeying around, but managed to finally get fascism!

I wound up getting specked as a Libertarian Socialist. Not surprised by that result, though I personally feel that Social Democrat is a little closer to my political beliefs.

And there's the problem with these quizzes...Libertarianism and socialism are mutually exclusive ideologies

Maybe if you subscribe to the common meanings/the mainstream version of both. Another name for Libertarian Socialism is Social Anarchism. I recall saying that this one judges based on a combination of social and economic issues, well Libertarians tend to be high on individual freedoms while the socialist part for this combination comes from the idea that the workers, not the state or stockholders, run the businesses. This article might explain it better: http://thoughtsonliberty.com/what-is...rian-socialism

It is not that some things are mutually exclusive but that the real meanings of some terms have gotten so muddled that to see how such could be we have to get down to the basic meaning and look at how one can indeed be both.

AnCap! It nailed me perfectly! Honestly, I think it's my disability. Nothing matters more than personal responsibility, and the ability to succeed or fail on my own merit. I got LibCap at first, but only because I was confused by, and had to further think about, a few questions. One was about parents being able to raise their kids according to their views and beliefs. I thought, "Within reason, sure. . . Hey dumbass, the question didn't say anything about reason. What about the child's views and beliefs?" While I do believe parents should start their kids off with some compass, "I don't think like you! Stop trying to make me," is a valid statement, even from a child. Ah, children. The most discriminated group in the country.
