Greetings from Ohio

Hi Everybody!


I'm a long time lurker, first time poster. I'm a Systems Analyst by day, and it's a good gig being able to use my love of tech in my day job. Who wouldn't want to have a job where you get to research technology solutions using Google and YouTube?

I was toilet trained before I turned 3, but I had a fascination with diapers my whole life. I liked the feeling of the plastic-backed Luvs, and I have no idea why. It gave me some sexual pleasure as a teenager (but to a teen, what doesn't?), but that quickly faded even though my interest did not. I've tried different brands, but I was never comfortable with the medical-looking kinds -- I don't like being reminded of a hospital or nursing home. I've been sampling the ABDL diapers, and I like the Super Dry Kids the most so far. They are the most like the kinds I wore as a toddler.

I've been into martial arts since I started elementary school, mainly Karate and Tae Kwon Do. I did some training in Kenpo, which is more like the stuff they teach the police, secret service, military, etc. My favorite is Wushu, since that is the kind of fighting I like to see in movies. I went to a week long seminar where they train people for movie stunts. I won't make a career out of it, but it was a lot of fun. Now that I'm an office worker, I've switched to weightlifting. Not as much fun, but it's a good way to stay motivated and keep in shape.

On the intellectual side, I'm a fan of analytic philosophy, with Alvin Plantinga as my favorite philosopher and Richard Swinburne coming in second, and maybe Edward Feser in third. Philosophy has helped me a lot in clear reasoning and spotting fallacies. More importantly, it gave me the maturity to read authors that I disagree with. I am also interested in historiography, which is the method and criteria by which you do history. It enlightened me as to why most conspiracy theories deserve little to no respect.

On the fun side, I used to play Magic The Gathering about 10 years ago. I also enjoy party games like Apples to Apples or Munchkin. It's a good way to socialize.

I also like video games way more than I should. Some of the indie games are quite amazing. OneShot was probably the cleverest game I have ever played. To the Moon was different, but also excellent. I love the Final Fantasy games, and finished 4 through 10, 12, and 13. Ori and the Blind Forest was also fun. For multiplayer, I've been addicted to StarCraft II ever since it came out.

I've traveled a bit in the past. Been to Mexico, Israel, Jordan, had several trips to China, and studied for a semester as a guest student at the University of Oxford.

I look forward to sharing my humor with those who share my unusual tastes.

And that last sentence reminded me of the Harry Potter blood-flavored lollipops.

Hi and welcome to the site. I took a couple of philosophy courses when I was a college student, oh so many years ago. I enjoyed the courses and found them interesting. I hope you enjoy ADISC and will feel comfortable joining in on the many topics. We have a lot of fun.

I've been nervous about this topic because I have strong feelings about sexual ethics. For example, I do not believe in pornography so I stay the hell away from it. While I am not a Catholic (but my father's side of the family is), I have half an M.A. in Catholic philosophy. I agree with the traditional view that the package of sexual intercourse, marriage, and procreation should not be separated.

Reading ADISC, and also getting to know an IC guy who made himself a DL after realizing his condition was life long helped me understand that being a DL is not necessarily a sexual thing. It can be just a kind of taste like people who eat chocolate-covered ants, wear eyeglasses without a prescription, drink bourbon with pickle juice, etc.

Now that the threat of guilt is gone, I've had a lot of fun trying out different kinds of diapers. They are so fun to wear!

I'm not an AB or a Little (my avatar should give that away); I much prefer adulthood to childhood because now I am in control.

I think people need to take more philosophy courses because it addresses so many issues that people think about but have a hard time putting into words. I remember reading Stephen Hawking's book The Grand Design. While Hawking claims that philosophy is dead, that book has a lot more philosophy in it than science. As Daniel Dennett said, there is no such thing as philosophy-free science. There is only science whose philosophical baggage is taken aboard unchecked. I would add that science itself rests on a huge pile of philosophical assumptions. In order to even develop a science experiment, you need to decide ahead of time what conclusions you would draw from different outcomes. Otherwise, your experiment is not testing anything.

More fun facts about me. I am a weapon enthusiast. I have police batons, an authentic Nepali kukri, a couple of automatic knives, a large hunting knife, a stun gun, a bunch of different pepper sprays (I recommend the ones containing CS tear gas), a tear gas grenade, and a 9 segmented whip. I also have a Ruger LCP for concealed carry, a .45 ACP, and an AK-47 with several 40 round magazines. I'll get a tactical shotgun one of these days.

Religiously, right now I think of myself as a secular theist. It's different from deism because I believe in divine miracles; I just don't hold to a religion right now. However, I think that religion is a very good thing for society so I have no interest in talking anyone out of their faith. On the other hand, I do have a problem when religions engage in thought policing, where they retaliate against someone for believing the wrong things. You don't have the right to ostracize people for following the call of their hearts. Politically, I am Alt Right as defined by Vox Day's 16 Points. I believe that no ethnic group is superior to any other, but that each group has a right to an ethnostate to shape their own destiny.

I joined ADISC because I am so impressed by the professionalism in the site's culture. People are themselves here, and the site facilitates good, clean, supportive interaction between members. I have already found a number of members who I've really gotten to like.
