oh, the perils of the internet, not to mention the perils of using foreign words to try to make oneself sound smart or fancy (that's why i now use the word 'scientits' rather than 'scientists'). strictly speaking, 'latex' in English just means 'wet'.dogboy said:Bless the internet's pea pick'n little heart. There's an explanation for everything. So, today's rubber pants are made from synthetic latex, I'm assuming. It's made to resemble old fashioned rubber. Am I right in this ade?
of course, from that you can then make any connotation you wish, but the established use is as i described earlier. as such, you would qualify the nature by stating it as man-made or natural, as need be. likewise, you would qualify a diaper as either disposable or reuseable, even though a diaper is really only reuseable cloth [of a particular weave], whence the name.
all such gets me wondering about the 'latex free' claims of some dispies.
