How to make a towel into a cloth diaper

Does anyone know how to fold one so it would go around the waist like a cloth diaper? it doesnt have to be able to be used just to fold like a cloth diaper and maybe feel thick
 
Fold in two. Twist one of the short ends so there is a twist in the middle. Sit on the twist and pin the corners of the short sides together with safety pins at your waist and thigh on each side. 2 pins each side is better.

Then wear plastic pants over it (I guess you could use anything waterproof).
